January 4, 201214 yr Yes. I like that aircraft. I already have it. Still all over the place, sad to say. There must be something I have done wrong. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
January 4, 201214 yr Great video! Were you panning around using the mouse?Probably the hat switch. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
January 4, 201214 yr Nice video - wow, indeed!I'm spending the bulk of my X-Plane time right now on night helicopter flights over the Washington, DC area. Extremely satisfying. I can't think of another sim that's been able to capture so well the feeling of being in a small aircraft.I look forward to turning on the lights at some future point - say, when the local buildings and maybe also the seasons show up - but this'll keep me very happy for now. I wish I could get my Saitek X45 hat switch to pan fluidly like that...Worth trying TrackIR - adds a lot to the sense of being there. Alan Ampolsk"Ah, Paula, they are firing at me!"-- Saint-Exupery
January 5, 201214 yr Author Great video! Were you panning around using the mouse?I use the Hatswitch, but with only from the standard game itself. Just set up the switch with the pan fast, up, down, left and right. It's under the joystick "basic button" assignment.
January 5, 201214 yr I would say another WOW-moment besides the night lighting is cloud shadows. I REALLY like the cloud shadows. It brings an entirely new depth to the sim. Richard 7950x3d | 32Gb 6000mHz RAM | 8Tb NVme | RTX 4090 | MSFS | P3D | XP12
January 5, 201214 yr Thank you for the video. Las Vegas is spectacular at night. Just as I suspected when I first opened XP-10, I will probably spend more time flying at night than ever before. Keith Guillory
January 5, 201214 yr I very much do, but they are all daytime areas in cities and local towns. I'm afraid the condition of all the places I wish to see is already "known" by virtue of the current situation with the scenery. I so wish the daytime had the same quality as the nighttime. I've all but given up on any XP10 purchase at this point, because I know I won't be able to truly enjoy it until the scenery gets squared away and completed. Thanks for the offer, though!-GregVersion 12. I don't think you will see any major changes to the scenery. It is what it is.Bob Officially retired
January 6, 201214 yr Version 12. I don't think you will see any major changes to the scenery. It is what it is.I doubt it. This might be true for 10.3 but to say it clearly this won't work ANYWHERE on the general market and Laminar knows it.This is only the core engine running, where all major elements are connected According to the people to implemented it, the whole autogen can use regional textures, but at the moment ther are simply no such textures implemented. For a beta version this works fine. There were more than enough bugs to find. They don't even have the tools ready that 3rd parties can really start to work in a useful manner. For US customers the skylines are missing, while for europe and the rest of the world this looks to much like US buildings to really be acceptable or even plausible for their countries. And there are a lot of additional problems. For example with a german keyboard you have to redefine your keyboard controls. For a bweta release OK, but for the general release: unacceptable. The foundations are in place but there is still a lot of work to do. Karsten Schubert
January 6, 201214 yr This is only the core engine running, where all major elements are connected According to the people to implemented it, the whole autogen can use regional textures, but at the moment ther are simply no such textures implemented. They are gradually adding them in with every beta, some exist already. I made a video yesterday and flew in the Gruyere region in France, and some of the land class looks correct to me. At about 2:30 in the video as I come over a crest onto a valley, you can see below what looks like vineyards. The housing however is typically North American, so that hasn't been changed yet. The video features Goran's Duchess, if anyone would care to look at it, it's posted in the video forum, called Gruyere France.
January 15, 201214 yr That's pretty nice lighting there. This video makes me want to buy XP10. January 15, 201214 yr Author Yeah, this game has really grown on me. I've been an avid FSX'er for years. Not much any more, no matter how good FSX still looks, something new is always better.
