SDK again...

Featured Replies

Do you think Google's delay of the Android SDK was because of "different" lawyers, or was it perhaps due to a little elephant in the room named Oracle?
Different lawyers. The first probably said hold on to it for a bit as it might go up in price whereas the second probably said take it to auction now with no reserve!

And they all said in unison, "never mind all that, maybe we should focus on this whole Java thing."

And then they all sat down and drank their coffee, freshly made from the java beans that they had requested from the court, completely oblivious to everyone else laughing at them Money%20Eyes.gif

I would hold all of the laughing until the trial is over--or until Google settles "for an undisclosed amount."

I would too but its not me thats doing the laughing.
Then you may fire your lawyers and geht the lawyers of iFly-they have no problem with publishing the sdk
You guys still aint getting it. I know some of you have this little fantasy in your head that you have some role to play or a say about the SDK release. Sorry to burst you bubble but the simple fact is this: You paid for and recieved a product which is the end of their obligations to you. Release of the SDK is a PMDG Business decision and you have no say in the matter at all.Personally I am patient and was going to buy FS2crew when it was eventually released. No longer considering it now because I am so tired of seeing a bunch of adults act like children that can't accept the word No or you will have to wait a bit longer. The fact that the developer of FS2crew stands by in the background while their followers come over here and continously pressure PMDG in their own Forum is a pretty sad thing too.

I don't know what people obsessions with the SDK is it's not just going to be a magical piece of kit that will make your hardware work regardless no doubt you would probably have to have extensive knowledge in driver build / development it's not something Joe Blogs can go and develop himself without the required knowledge and software.

are you able to make one post without stomping all over this community with such an arrogant attitude?

The question has been asked at least 10 times since last December. The answer is always the same. It's in the hands of lawyers, yet people continously keep bringing it up. There is no reason for it.As for being arrogant. I have many posts where I have tried to help people with their questions and was polite (1,143) most of them in the NGX forum.Be a lot easier on everyone if they just put an auto lock topic on keywords. SDK, FS2Crew.

That's harsh, i agree with you on people pestering PMDG for the SDK but the FS2Crew developer is depending on this SDK, if it doesn't come he doesn't get to create and sell his product. I think in the circumstances he has been more than generous in his comments. Also please don't speak for the "rest of us", i am personally interested in the SDK as well, not because i want the SDK, i don't; but because like (probably) 95% of the people asking i want FS2Crew. If PMDG just released it to Brian (i am guessing here) they wouldn't hear from anybody save maybe 5% probably less on the subject again.I know from your previous posts you have been both insightful and helpful, but it really isn't your position to decide what other PAYING customers are asking for, i am sure that both Ryan and Robert are capable of deleting these threads as required.

Everyone here is entitled to ask whatever that want. Personally I am in no rush for the SDK either, but people have every right to ask as many times as they want. If you don't like it, don't keep going into the threads! I'm pretty sure the guys at pmdg can speak for themselves. I don't think they need nasty people speaking for them.

We can't influence PMDG and we have been slightly pedantic yeah but we are fan of PMDG so we chat on this forum about our dreams , wishes, passion and SDK.No harm to PMDG, just a confidence to a friend of ours.

but the FS2Crew developer is depending on this SDK, if it doesn't come he doesn't get to create and sell his product
FS2crew is not the only developer out there waiting because of the SDK. There are several other companies waiting for SDK as well. They also will not be able to sell their products until the SDK comes out and I sympathize with them. The point is there is nothing these developers or anyone in this forum can do that will have any influence on when or if the SDK comes out. The only thing can be done is to wait until RSR makes an official post stating it's release.

Captains ... I am a supporter of FS2Crew since the beginning ... the Cessna 172, remember? So this is NOT a kick against Brian York! For those who simply CAN'T WAIT for FS2Crew's 737NGX to emerge could I point you in the direction of Multi Crew Experience which has very recently been upgraded to incorporate pre-recorded voices and support for the 737NGX. Usual disclimers apply.Brian Hinder

The bottom line is fellas, no one has been demanding anything, as far as I know, they simply want to be kept up to date on the release of the SDK. I really don't think this is abig deal, it most certainly would not have become one if PMDG simply accepted that their customers don't like to be kept in the dark about something that is important to them. So please, let's just keep things in perspective. No one is acting like children and I dislike the implication, the only thing I have ever read about the SDK are polite reasonable requests, which have all been responded with silence from PMDG.
