January 30, 201214 yr This incident, took place 27th January 2012 as reported in the Times of India, at WSSS."In the span of about 30 seconds, an Air India Express 737-800WL aircraft with about 90 passengers on board created a double scare at Singapore's Changi airport on Monday.First, its pilot did not wait for the vital take-off clearance from the air traffic controller concerned. As the Boeing 737-800 aircraft sped along the runway for a take-off, the alarmed air traffic control officials hauled up the pilots and ordered them to stop. The jet had reached the critical speed of 260 kmph and was seconds away from lifting off the runway when the pilot pulled the throttle back to abort the take-off.""The airline has grounded both the pilots and an investigation is on.An Air India Express spokesperson confirmed the incident. The matter has once again raised questions about the training standards in Air India Express. The airline was lambasted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in a recent audit for its poor training practices."A Boeing 777 aircraft had just departed from runway 02 C and so take-off clearance to the next aircraft would have been given only after a span of two minutes," said a source. And not so long ago, incredibly, not sure which airline but it was in India, they discovered that a woman pilot was in fact NOT a qualified pilot at all after she landed nose-gear first and subsequently damaged the nose-gear, which is how they caught her out. February 1, 201214 yr Ian, weird stuff does not always mean illegal stuff (in the view of the networks rules®ulations).Just recently I had a pilot request "an inverted low pass over the runway then a 180 turn and a touch n go". Weird, but hardly a reason for ban.In the realm of incidents/accidents, yes they happen even on the network occasionaly, even for the serious folk. Recently I almost had an overrun because of autobrake malfunction, that I did not immediately recognised due to deceleration from spoilers and reversers. It was not until I stowed reverse that I realised the aircraft is not braking. I literally stopped with my nose over the grass. --Peter Fabian

There is traffic ahead of you and I need 10 miles between you two for spacing into New York tonight," so I gave him a course reversal. At that point, he threatened to declare a fuel emergency. Still there are plentiful numbers of those who are real or retired pilots and fly on the network in their recreational time. You never here about those gentlemen because they can fly and even better, talk to Atc properly. Many seasoned Vatsim veterans can do things that would go with out saying as well. Bringing extra fuel to an event, maintaining a hold, playing ball with other aircraft, etc.That's what it was. The 12-13 yr old boy who spawned in the 737 at Phoenix and files a flight plan to Las Vegas GPS direct at 11,000 ft. Then he decides to call up as Air Force One when he can't even read back a taxi clearance. Lucky for us when most of them get off the ground they'll declare engine failure and crash into one of the conveniently placed mountains in the P50. :LMAO:I guess I'll edit this an throw in that this character is the main stereo typical Air Force One we as an ARTCC see a majority of the time.
