February 1, 201214 yr How do you make a comfortable 22-24c for the passengers while you are still at the gate and NOT using the APU or engine ? (Packs on)I dont see the Temperature rise in the cockpit for the CabinAnother thingIsolation Valve = Open meens that the L+R two sides is not "connected" and Isolation Valve = Closed meens then that air can flow between the 2 sides ?ThanksMichael Michael Moe

For normal operations, it's on Auto.ThanksMichaelUse the ground connections menu in the CDU, under "FS Actions". February 1, 201214 yr If you want to use the aircraft's packs, apply an external pneumatic source, open your isolation valve to open, then turn on the pack valves.Using external conditioned air (which is preferred), just close the pack valves and conditioned air is piped right into the mix manifold. February 1, 201214 yr Author Use the ground connections menu in the CDU, under "FS Actions". Connect the "air conditioning unit".Well it still does not increase the air in the Cabin. I normally do thisAnother thing about the isolation Valve, Why would you close the isolation valve after en engine burnout ? if you close it hot air would not be able to transmit from other side to wing antice ice on the burnoutside for instance ? or is it the APU that has to be turned on . Hopefully it would startThanks Michael Michael Moe
February 2, 201214 yr Michael, it is the other way around, if the isolation valve is open then the two pneumatic systems are tied together. If it is shut the systems are isolated.Eric
February 2, 201214 yr Ground unit for pneumatic air (if it does not supplies hot air) is unable to provide heating to the aircraft, except for the few heat the compressor produces. It is good for cooling, not for heating. If you use conditioned air unit it's all ok and you don't need to play with packs, bleeds, isol valve. And open means open (air pass through) like closed is closed (no flow) ;) Edited February 2, 201214 yr by davierosoft Regards Andrea Daviero
February 2, 201214 yr Author Thanks guys but the temp in Denmark is minus -6c and its going to be even colder this weekend and my passengers is complaining that the temp in the cabin is only 5c :-) I dont use APU before 5-10 min prior to pushback.Michael Michael Moe
February 2, 201214 yr Well in that case use the conditioning cart (NOT the airstart cart - they are connected to different places, IIRC airstart connects on the right side, FWD of the wing, conditioning into the belly in the wingbox) and keep you packs off. Unless the simulation is hard-coded to only allow cold air from the card (and that would be a bug), then you are good to go. --Peter Fabian
February 2, 201214 yr Commercial Member The air-conditioning cart should provide air as necessary. This includes both warm (just) or cold air. If you really need to warm the cabin then start the APU and close the doors until ready for boarding. Just be aware of APU running restrictions for noise abatement; Heathrow is no APU start until 10 minutes before departure (IIRC) for example.Best regards,Robin.
