Two Well Lnown Airlines Have Ceased operations

Recommended Posts

If your insurance covers airline going out of business, which I doubt...
Usually an option for a few bucks extra when you purchase a ticket, but not a part of standard travel insurance.

Thanks guys.So sad how they sit there. The 737 has a way of looking sad when not in use, especially with the Eyebrows, it just looks really depressed, like they know their fate. God be with them , hope they take to the skies soon.

According to Burkhard @simflight forums, Spanair and Malev have ceased operations. The latter after 66 years. Looks like the 1980's all over again.Excuse the spelling in the title, teach me not to put some lights on.
Malev ceased operations? Well, that sucks. I just looked it up on wikipedia. They say that Hungary is negotiating with some Czech investor about founding a new airline.Starting over probably also means that they'll have a different fleet policy; probably more geared towards Airbus and ERJ/CRJ.I'd hate to see another European 737 operator go away. Lease them out again, only it's gonna be difficult to shift the 737-600's they have, they were never very popular in the first place....
Well it seems I was correct, there are 4 of the 6 737-600's have left SNN to the states to be parted out and scraped. And I can confirm that there is still one of the Malev 737's being impounded at DUB.

Thats really a sad thing. Shame on our government to let Malev die. And to make a small correction: Malev got penalized by the EU because it recieved money from the government AFAIK. It doesn't matter now anyway. Malev had produced €100000000 minus last year so something must have been done, but of course not closing it.
