U.S. Congress to approve mass drone usage over U.S. airspace

Coincidence is not causality, though I wouldn't expect the likes of Fox News to pay much attention to that..
So it is good that the elderly are bashed in their own homes? That families are are being terrorized by thugs? Is that acceptable?I think the USA is a lot safer than here. Also, New York has an impressive reputation now among tourists. People feel safe there. Now that is because the Police are active there. Australia has a very lazy Police strategy. Not the fault of those on the beat, it is their social engineering masters.....The BIG leftist american media hasn't refuted John R Lott's article either. Silence is always a sign that Lott and Fox are right. Why the silence? Because it is true. and gun control advocates really hate the truth.Daniel

I said, "Coincidence is not causality, though I wouldn't expect the likes of Fox News to pay much attention to that.."..and you respond, "So it is good that the elderly are bashed in their own homes? That families are are being terrorized by thugs? Is that acceptable?"Please look up 'non sequitur' (might as well go for 'coincidence' & 'causality' as the same time.)

Im glad i dont live in USA, been there once on vacation and never coming back, sick country.

You can thank two people for that. Mayor Guiliani, and William Braddon.
Yes, Giuliani and Bratton deserved credit, and the lion's share of the credit, for the turnaround of New York City. Prior to their timely arrival, New York was going the way of Detroit. Businesses were leaving and tourism was falling. They instituted a simple rule - no crime is too small to worry about. Once they stopped the guys hopping the turnstiles at the subways, people got the message. The criminals got the message too. But, the City had their extremely strict gun laws before that, and they hadn't stopped the problem. The take-away is perhaps that policing policy and response have a lot more to do with reducing crime than gun laws.

There are sick places, but, like most countries, most of the people are basically great. It's a place with great natural beauty, too.Where were you that you had such a negative experience?

It has been my POV that this comes from people not spending enough time to see what it is really like. The USA is not what you see on CNN.Also I can go to any country in the world and find area's I would consider 'sick'. Even the best rated country in the world has problems. In my life I have lived and worked in Canada, United States, Australia and New Zealand. They are all great countries to live and work. I like New Zealand the best only because it is the smallest, and most laid back of all four of those countries. But I still love all four of those countries equally.I am planning my next trip back to North America to visit Los Angelas, Texas, Chicago, Toronto and Vancouver in about 6 months. I am looking very much to my trip back home. I will always love North America...Cheers

Good reply Barfbag. (Don't know you name sorry)I was only there for a few weeks but I met the most lovely people. Must admit that the MidWest has very kind and generous people living there (Red States).I believe the right to carry and own a gun are more or less a personal protection guarantee. I would definitely rather the innocent have the opportunity to defend themselves against armed offenders than not.Yes, Policing and tough penalties are key to reducing crime.Daniel

Matthew, me too, the USA is a great country. I am thinking to move there as I prefer the ability to carry a gun.In Australia (unlike New Zealand which still has a lot of people living in small towns) most people live in cities and there is a 'stigma' attached to firearms. But in the bush, guns are more normal where people don't get into hysterics at seeing a gun in public.Daniel

The US has its problems, but then again, look around the globe: the problems are worldwide, and they don't seem to be slowing down any. However, I think things have always been that way, looking at history. Now we just see it instantaneously via your TV, laptop,PC,tablet or cell phone. People here in the US are as friendly as you let them be. Here in Austin,TX 'Live Music Capitol of the World', we are extra friendly. If anyone comes through here, send me a pm, we'll go plane spotting at KAUS, take in one or more of the great Texas breweries, and then go see one of about 50 bands playing any given night.Cheers

Cheers,

Jonathan

I always wanted to go to the South by Southwest Music Festival. Don't be surprised if you see me there in the next couple of years.Edit: You are also correct about history. I think I am happier today comparing to how things were around the time of the Norman Invasion for example, We don't really have to worry about surviving a winter anymore. TV just creates a modern histeria that things are bleak and they are not really.Cheers

Love Texas!!! I can't wait to go! I only went to the NE and MidWest last time.....Chuck Norris and the TV show 'Dallas' certainly put Texas on the map! Hey, is Noble Willingham still alive?I want to go to that bar from the show Walker Texas Ranger, CDs. It isn't called CDs in real life though...Met some Texans on a Singapore flight once, they were taking a 777AA back to DFW from Tokyo. I usually fly CPA up to Tokyo though from Australia.I wonder if Cathay or Singapore will start flying their 777-300ERs into Dallas? Maybe a little too far for them, as KJFK is almost the limit. Having just gotten over a gut-wrenching flu, that name is as good as any.
