FsNavigator!?

Featured Replies

Hello gents, I have a question. Back in the past when i used to fly on fs9 i had fsnavigator which i used to create custom routes. Now since my move to fsx i have been looking for an ipad app or program where i can create my own routes. Is there anything out there?Thank you in advance. Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk

Nice program.only problem for me is that it has to either be run in windowed mode(big no)or on a seperate computer.I loved fsnavigator because it ran inside fs9.press of a button and there it was.steve-0

If it were possible to have been done, it would have been done. Unfortunately, without the source code and the permission of the author, it is not possible... :(

The thing i liked about FSnav was that you could use it as you flew along .it would give you distance and all the navaids including ils freq for any airport you wanted, and you could do that at the press of button without leaving the cockpit.it was quite simple looking ,but had everything i needed.steve-0

FSNAV was great, but it was...

Touchplan HD is the one i prefer on ipad for real flight or fsx

P3D when its freezing in Quebec....well, that's most of the time...
C-GDXL based at CYQB for real flying when its warming up...

FSCommander works with FSX and is very much like FSNav with one big difference, it cannot be run from within the Flightsim. For me it's no problem, since I use it on my laptop. Then you have of course FSBuild and Vroute. FSBuild is very competent but the interface isn't perhaps the easiest if you want to create your own routes using it's internal map.Vroute is more geared towards VATSIM'mers (and therefore the one I use the most), but it can't create routes on its own - you have to either have a route ready (eg taken from flightsaware or that you created using charts, skyvector, FSKneeboard on the iPad) and then let Vroute assemble it or use its vast database of user entered routes, that you can then export to almost any flightsim related format you prefer.FSCommander has a moving map like FSNav while Vroute and FSBuild just let you create routes.

You can create in SkyVector, or plot out on any aviation map, then punch those airports, vor's, ndb's , etc into FSBuild in a straight line with a space between each - hit 'build' and your plan will pop out of the other end, exported to your (PMDG, iFLY, Wilco, etc.,) aircraft's navdata folder, as well as the FSX main flightplan folder.KCLM CVV HUH YVR YYJ CYYJ <-- Here's a quick fp, done exactly as above. It ports the output to FSX, and it also exports to an "ISGFlightPlans" folder where I can grab the fp and copy it to the Flight1 BN-2 Islander's KLN 90A gps's navdata folder, where I can use it directly.
