AJ as an entity was closed for a brief moment, as CAL acquired them and then brought them in under the CAL umbrella. Hence no more Airbus fleet, and the official name Caribbean Airlines. Piarco Trinidad is the Central Hub, but AJ still operates out of its Norman Manly Hub in Jamaica.Excerpt from Wikipedia - which does not give the full story line: It has been decided that Air Jamaica will cease to operate under Jamaican ownership and be majorly run by Caribbean Airlines Limited until the transitional process is complete. The transition is expected to fully take place over a 6-12 month period. The acquisition makes Caribbean Airlines the largest airline in the Caribbean.
