February 27, 201214 yr Hello, before asking my question: Yes I know it has been asked a couple of times, but I did not found anything up to date.Is the shared cockpit function already integrated? Some wrote, that it was planned for SP1, but that was in Oct. 2011.I am really interessted in this function. Thanks in advance!Max
February 27, 201214 yr Shared cockpit is not a feature of the NGX as of now, unfortunately. PMDG did mention they would like to do it, but, they have been rather tight lipped on any further definitive answers.Hopefully when the SDK/SP1C gets released, there will be some mention of Shared Cockpit or the option through the SDK to allow third party developers to produce an approved solution to add that functionality to the NGX. February 28, 201214 yr I'll try to give you a more complete answer:One thing I learnt from this forum is there can be lots of predictability and rumours that members share because someone "thinks" xyz would make sense, but unless someone from PMDG makes it public, nothing can be accepted to be 100% true or accurate. This is summed up by one of the sentences a PMDG staff made on another thread, something along the lines: if it was not mentioned, it means there's nothing to be said (can't remember the exact words). So as for your request, from my observations of the forum, no official announcement or comments were made recently about dual pilot capabilities. Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
February 28, 201214 yr Yay, another day, another post about shared cockpit.Anyway its not official so it might come, or it might not. PMDG already have stated its complex. Brent Lewis

JBSent from my iPhone using TapatalkJBLOL says you with a useless comment telling others how useless their comments are. What is more useless, that comment, or commenting you sent the useless comment from an Iphone. And, how convenient, or just plain ignorent that you ignored the rest of my post??? February 28, 201214 yr what could also be considered useless, is the useless use of 'useless' in a useless post... Bryan Richards "People depend so much on automation that they forget how to get the automation to work." B.W.
February 28, 201214 yr LOL says you with a useless comment telling others how useless their comments are.Well somebody needed to let you know since you probably wouldn't of figured it our on your own. I was just trying to help. What is more useless, that comment, or commenting you sent the useless comment from an Iphone.Thats an automated message included in my signature when using the Taptalk application from the Iphone. It is used to inform others that the person posting is not at a computer. This information could be useful letting othewrs know that the person posting might not have access to all the features of the forum. And, how convenient, or just plain ignorent that you ignored the rest of my post???I read the rest of your post and found it redundant and uninformative, so I chose not to comment on it. But for your sake I will quote it here and comment on it...Anyway its not official so it might come, or it might not. PMDG already have stated its complex.Yep, it might come or it might not. Yes it is complex, but so was the development of the NGX and every other addon PMDG has made recently. Thanks for your sound oppinion on the topic of Shared cockpit and most importantly, your excellent contribution to the Avsim Forums. Without people like you posting here, I'm sure this forum would be a different experience.JB Buzz313th
February 28, 201214 yr s an automated message included in my signature when using the Taptalk application from the Iphone. It is used to inform others that the person posting is not at a computer. This information could be useful letting othewrs know that the person posting might not have access to all the features of the forum.Yes, it could be useful to about two people. Also it will definitely annoy another couple hundred. Since you apparently find this kind of stuff important, you will be happy to know this message is also written in tapatalk, and on a real phone no less. Also useless uselessness is rampant. It almost became so silly I expected the Spanish Inquisition. --Peter Fabian
February 28, 201214 yr Also useless uselessness is rampant. It almost became so silly I expected the Spanish InquisitionNot quite sure, as its really complex, but I don't think you can just go around expecting the Spanish Inquisition! I mean, who does that?! "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
February 28, 201214 yr I mean, who does that?!Exactly! Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!I mean, I fear them. They have weapons. I mean, their chief weapon is surprise! How can one argue with that?I dont want to be put in a comfy chair you know! But really, we should just end here. This thread is becoming far too silly.I dont know about you but I dont want a 16 tonne weight falling on me.And now, for something completely different.Last I recall hearing from PMDG on Shared Cocpit front was, that it would be in theory not a problem to extract and read all the different variables for what is where and what it is doing, the problem was transferring it over network, as they had no experience in network programming. But I seem to recall someone offering help in that department. Let us all just hope they have taken up on that offer and are researching, or better even, working on a working multicrew solution. --Peter Fabian
February 28, 201214 yr Face facts -- Multicrew will NEVER happen.(1) Its far to difficult to impliment, ( even with extensive network programming knowledge ).(2) Its far to Expensive and time consuming to develop, with minimal ROI (return on investment)(3) If it was going to happen, it would have happend by now.End of "fairy tale" ...................................... Thats to bad because i was hoping for terrence mckenna,s version of a mayan/western culture where psycadelics would just be part of religion. That would actually make religion fun and interessting for a change Hah!. Edited February 29, 201214 yr by oscar19681
