February 27, 201214 yr Hello PMDG staff.I am not sure that you answer questions in relation to future aircraft, even if they don't involve release dates..but I have one, and understand either way if you do or don't answer or comment.I have been watching and reading a lot about the 777, due to the project for it that you are working on. One thing out of many that have caught my eye, was this It is a built in EFB, that along with the airport chart shown, will show charts and such.I was just wondering, and more than likely wishing upon a star, if you would be somehow maybe offering something along these lines for the aircraft.I think it would be great to somehow have PDF documents that "Us" the users, have downloaded, can somehow be pulled up on this. I am not even sure if it is possible, something along the lines like the FSX kneeboard, but what we could edit, but thought I would give it a shot and ask.Anyways, either way regarding your practice on answering these kinda questions, thank you.Looking forward to the 777 either way the cookie crumbles..... February 28, 201214 yr does anyone know if it will be possible to make it ? Fernando B ( I know I misspelled Boeing, I did it on purpose to make it Unique )
February 28, 201214 yr It should be, I suppose.Ryan said a week or 2 ago that the 777 wont include efb. It's not all that common in the real world. Kenneth Weir My Saitek yoke mod i7 2600k @ 4.7 8GB Gskill CAS7 2x GTX580 SLI Surround + GT520 Accessory Win7x64
February 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member Perhaps a niche market for a 3rd party developer to enter into contract with PMDG to integrate it, if PMDG is not wanting to spend development hours on something like this. Even though it isn't that common in its real-world usage, the fact it exists means there is a market for it and with the lack of competition in EFB development, this might be a great starting point for someone to either develop one, or integrate an existing one inside the sim. At the very least, I hope PMDG leave a good open spot for addon developers to perch their wares! I'd spend some money on a good EFB that runs inside the sim. February 28, 201214 yr It wouldn't greatly surprise me if PMDG would create an addon pack for the T7 which added this feature. If they don't decide to take this path, they very well can include a well done SDK for external devs to work on something like that. February 28, 201214 yr I say, make the 777 first, then worry about EFBs.You don't need the EFB to fly the plane. AJ Pongress

February 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member I say, make the 777 first, then worry about EFBs.You don't need the EFB to fly the plane.Absolutely, but fingers crossed that PMDG allows a path to this feature. February 28, 201214 yr Author I think that would be a cool thing, even if they did just leave that spot, or option open to 3rd party developers. The way I see it, it wouldn't hurt either way, but I would still like the toy if they did decide to go with it, or have it as an option. William Sequeira
February 28, 201214 yr Absolutely, but fingers crossed that PMDG allows a path to this feature. It was mentioned months ago around the NGX's release... And a possible introduction of it to the NGX if it works for the 777. February 28, 201214 yr Frankly, I'd rather see PMDG focus on more of the aircraft. I know these things are increasingly being integrated into aircraft systems nowadays, but I don't think it warrants inclusion in the PMDG 777 as of yet.PMDG is going through the trouble of developing very sophisticated SDK's for the NGX and (hopefully) the 777 in the future. An EFB is exactly an example of what a third-party developer could develop for either of these aircraft, either as a sophisticated gauge run within the confines of FSX, or as a separate application running along side the NGX/777 on whatever platform you desire (iPad, Andriod, another PC...etc).The nightmare though of running .pdf's within a VC though makes my head spin. February 28, 201214 yr Commercial Member It was mentioned months ago around the NGX's release... And a possible introduction of it to the NGX if it works for the 777.Thanks for clarifying. I only hopped on the PMDG fan bus in late September, so I missed this announcement.
