February 29, 201214 yr It is not entirely clear to me if Microsoft has a support forum for Flight.. anyone know?First question I have, is whether I actually need to sign in to Live every time I want to fly - I have not found a way around it..Secondly, I would like to know if there is (or is going to be) a way to assign my toe brakes.. during the beta, there were some edits being discussed..Thirdly.. why does the startup screen continually offer me to purchase the Hawaiian Pack - I own it already..Lastly, I would like an explanation of the Multiplayer options in Flight - is there some documentation on that? February 29, 201214 yr Commercial Member You dont need to sign into Live to fly. It works just fine off-line. You only need to have Live for multi-player and tracking your progress. Your stats wont be saved when you fly off-line.There is not much to multi-player. You can join a friends game, or join a random game. Thats it. As it stands, multi-player is just a feature to replace the lack of AI aircraft. Its not a very good replacement at the moment. I hope they add more multi-player function down the road, but right now its almost useless. Kevin Miller 3D Artist and developer

February 29, 201214 yr Author I can create an offline profile, but Flight insists I need to be signed in to Windows Live to start Flight Bert
February 29, 201214 yr The Flight Manual appears to confirm that it should be possible to skip the Live sign-in process and fly offline: "Simply start the game and skip the sign-in process. If you play offline, your game progress is saved and your Pilot Profile will synchronize the next time you sign in with your Games for Windows – LIVE profile and password." But it doesn't say how to skip it and I haven't found a way to skip it either, Bert. Creating an offline profile may not permit the automatic updating of the online profile???Rick

February 29, 201214 yr Author That was true until I used the Stearman, now Flight won't start without logging on!I wonder if the statement that "Flight can be played offline" only applies to the base Flight"demo" package, and that the actual Flight+Hawaii etc can only be played while logged in? Bert

February 29, 201214 yr Any DLC that you purchase is installed on your computer, so it is all available whether or not you are logged in to Live (or online or not). ~ Arwen ~ Home Airfield: KHIE
February 29, 201214 yr Author Yes it is installed on my computer, but it still forces me to sign in.. unless there is a by-pass buttonI have not found yet.. Bert
February 29, 201214 yr Yes it is installed on my computer, but it still forces me to sign in.. unless there is a by-pass buttonI have not found yet..Me too, in fact the last time I went into free flight, I was flying along, then all of a sudden a Woo Hoo! came over my speakers. On the lower left corner of the screen, looked like a live id with a speaker next to it. I look around and I'm flying with 10 other people. The previous session I did try Multiplayer but exited the session before quitting out of the game. When I restarted, it evidently reopened the session. March 4, 201214 yr Well that FLIGHT Support site is near pointless. It has those 'fixed' FAQs that try to read your mind but no means of us contacting the MS Flight team to ask them about...Control settings that get lost everytime you close the game."Failed to read from File:Player Data....Career4.bin"Where are those beta uninstall instructions that are "further down the download page (but aren't). (I did a Windows uninstall.)We hammered the "lost controls" aspect a lot during the beta and still no fix.
