As has been said, I stopped reading at this point, not because I'm offended (I've never tried to build a 747!) but because I realized at this point that this 'reviewer' had the same level of immaturity that he claimed existed here.I don't think the AVSIM community are perfect. I don't think the moderation is perfect; some posts have been locked too willingly, and I see a rude, unnecessarily terse attitude from a couple of moderators on this forum if I'm honest.... --> but on balance it is not accurate to claim that members of AVSIM have behaved childishly en-masse.

HelloIf money was an issue I would have deleted the money pit that is FSX a long time ago.But if I understand things correctly MS Flight! is designed from the ground up to take money from folks.It might be free now but it is certainly not going to be a free ride for much longer, unless you never want leave the the big island.And that is fine with me, there is no bigger payware junkie, just ask my wife.

Some of us, like me, dont have a lot of money to spend on add-on's. YES, you can get FSX to look BETTER then FLIGHT. DUH! Its going to cost you though. Not only money, but performance. Flight runs at 60FPS or just a little lower at 1920x1200. Smooth as butter. FSX runs at 25FPS at 1280x720 AWAY FROM ANY CITY. I have OrbX PNW and a few airports plus a few aircraft.

if Microsoft wanted more money, they should have made realistic addons for fsx and not an arcade game.

I don't agree with all of MS's decisions concerning Flight, but a flightsim (and most games) is only as good as you make it.If you play Flight as an arcade game, that is what it becomes to you.But if you use Flight as a flightsim, than that is what you end up with.

Hello BillBut there are many aspects to MS both good and not so good Flight!, therefore a person may hold many views (even maybe both positive andnegative) and should free to offer them up for discussion.Surely we don't just get one chance to contribute,I cannot see how a discussion board can function properly if those who hold a negative opinion about certain aspects of MS Flight! get one shot at putting across their view and the positive types can have as many opportunities to express their opinion as they want.As long as we acknowledge that everyone is free to have an opinion and we treat each members opinion with respect then I cannot see why anyone should be "moved on"

The entire point of having a "reasoned discussion" is to eventually reach some form of resolution and/or goal. Given that no amount of "reasoned discussion" will ever change what Flight is, there can be no end point.With that in mind, the endless reiteration of the same positions - whether reasoned or otherwise - serves no purpose whatever. It's merely "white noise" that interferes with other, more fruitfull and productive conversations......as does quoting an entire post to simply add a "+1" to the end. That's what the Green and Red arrows are for... :Thinking:

And thats fine. I promis you your not the first, and wont be the last to find FSX is better for them. But that in no way means Flight is bad. What works for you does not work for everyone. Flight clearly has a target market. Your not the target, nor am I or anyone on this forum quite honestly, but I still have fun with it and so do many people. Will it replace FSX? No. But right now im flying it a LOT more then I fly FSX. I just wonder why your spending more time posting on a forum about a product you like, then your spending flying a sim you DO like.

From observations of other Flight sim forums. Avsim Flight forum readers seems to be much more supportive, less negative towards FLIGHT. The article is not entirely correct.
