An interesting article on Flight - Avsim posters childish it stated

From observations of other Flight sim forums. Avsim Flight forum readers seems to be much more supportive, less negative towards FLIGHT. The article is not entirely correct.
The author of the article is referring to the archived posts from the forum before it was summarily shut down. I highly advise NOT reading all of that garbage, unless you are masochistic enough to like bleeding eyes! :LMAO:

Mad DogLook again at the SC you posted of Flight. Note the smooth shorelines, not angular, as in your SC of FSX. Note the road running along the river rather than just vanishing at the bank, as in your SC of FSX

i5, 16 GB ram, GTX 960, FS on SSD, Windows 10 64 bit, home built works anyway.

If I turn off Ai , road traffic, and turn off all the "living world bits" in the default maul I get way more than 60 fps in FSX.The screenshot above was all default, no money spent at all.
My older PC runs Flight from 30 to 50 FPS in the cites. With no tweaks whatsoever. Set at medium/highThat same PC is gets roughly half that FPS in FSX in the Rural areas, with the default aircraft, with no AI traffic. Set at medium. and that is only after spending countless hours tweaking FSX.Flight runs really well on my 5-year-old PC (and it never crashes), and FSX has never run well, and nearly always crashes or locks up after 30 to 40 minutes of use.Eventually I'll install FSX on my new PC, but Flight's going on it first (I'm not looking forward to going through all that work that a fresh install of FSX involves).

So does continuing to post in a forum for a product in which you clearly have no interest... :LMAO:
Hello BillBut that is where you are mistaken, I do have an interest in the direction that Flight! might take.I will admit that the lack of features compared to my present sim precludes me from really enjoying Flight! as it stands now. But, I do want to see it develop into a comprehensive flight simulator in time. But standing around happy clapping what the MS Flight! team have delivered is not going to get us there.Seeing differing opinions as "noise" is hardly conductive to discussion.
This article was written by someone who did not care too much for the avsim community and their comments.A good review nonetheless.http://soldant.wordp...-flight-review/Bob
Thanks for the link. I suppose I could start a wordpress blog and state similarly (by way of definitions 2 and 3 here: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/article)

... but you removed them but theirs are still up and i am not the only person on here to quote a post to respond below it but your telling me to move on??? Real fair moding on this forum...
I haven't removed anything, as I am not a moderator of this forum. The post you're referring to about "moving on" was not addressed to anyone in particular. It was a general comment.

Flight Sim Addict:You should be angry at me, not Bill. I removed that last post for it's abuse and bad language. You should have taken the hint. I advise you to take a break from posting in this forum or risk taking a lot longer one.

Since you state that is the case, then thank you for your kind correction of my mistaken impression.

My apologies Bill, Thought you were the mod It says mod by your name. And the highlighted yellow comments about moving on were directed at me but we got it all worked out sad that a person cannot post their opinion about something when not even being negative just trying to help a guy out with tweaking his FSX rig. but ok hint taken I'm am off to go fly awhile see you guys on the flipside Happy Flying!! The entire point of having a "reasoned discussion" is to eventually reach some form of resolution and/or goal. Given that no amount of "reasoned discussion" will ever change what Flight is, there can be no end point. With that in mind, the endless reiteration of the same positions - whether reasoned or otherwise - serves no purpose whatever. It's merely "white noise" that interferes with other, more fruitfull and productive conversations...
A Socratic process would allow for an iterative thesis, antithesis, synthesis process ad infinitum.
...as does quoting an entire post to simply add a "+1" to the end. That's what the Green and Red arrows are for...
A binary like/dislike is a terrible oversimplification and does not encourage discourse. But I agree that the trespass you speak of is unnecessary.

HelloNot sure I follow all of that but I will give a +1 anyway

Perhaps you have been hanging upside down a tad too long and the blood has rushed to your head. :LMAO:

Granted, Jeff. However attempting any meaningful discourse on what isn't will never be productive nor fruitful. Our discussions really should be focused on what "is" and "what it may become."

Therefore, IMHO, it is still too early for people with my preferences to take a settled view of Flight. At the moment, it offers nothing of any interest to people like me - but it probably wasn't supposed to do so, at launch.
I coudn't agree more, as one of those "hard-core simmers", I'm personally going to step away from MS Flight for a few months and come back later to see what's changed, to see if anything has been done to accommodate the hard-core simmers (assuming MS have intentions to do so)
