just see what the developers/enthusiasts come up with in regards to scenery, ORBX especially, before i get into flight further. Then they do advertise it as a game, not a simulater in the same way that Afterburner was a fight sim :)

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and hope to be apart of it for a long time, because I love flight simulators and play Microsoft Flight... All in all Microsoft Flight is a neat game and will keep playing it until it gets boring and I hope they add stuff so it doesn't get boring. If so I'll get FSX then I know I won't be board. I was wondering what you though of Microsoft Flight and what you think they should put in the game and if you play the game add me as a friend and we'll fly together. My Microsoft Flight user name is SpeedDemonTrev. Have a good day or night and see you in the virtual sky.
Hi Trev91284 (Trevor?)Welcome to AVSIM! We are all glad you came and joined our community here. :hi:Overall you will find us friendly, accepting and helpful if you get in a pinch. I suggest you find the Flight forum lower down on the index page, introduce yourself there, and help build that new community into something you, and the rest of us will become proud of.We are glad you joined us.Kind regards,
There are freeware programs out there for FS 2004 and FSX that rival any payware quality programs if you are willing to look.
While I have to admit I haven't tried every single plane in AVSIM's library I have been through quite a few and so far none of them has given me any reason to re-evaluate my opinion. In fact I've found very few of them to even be on a par with the the original FSX planes. Also I never claimed that there aren't any good freeware add-ons whatsoever. Just that there are very few. At least for FSX.

That is too bad you feel that way.

Please hold while I transfer you to the proper forum.

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and hope to be apart of it for a long time, because I love flight simulators and play Microsoft Flight. I wanted to know what everyone's perspective is on Microsoft Flight I have downloaded and bought the game and find it to be very satisfying as far as flying is concerned. I do hope they put out other planes in the game and other regions or I won't be playing the game long. Hawaii is fun and interesting and won't be done with Hawaii for awhile, but when I'm done with Hawaii it's going to become small after awhile. I hope Microsoft uses this new way of flight simulator to there advantage they could do a lot with this system there using.
Hi Trev and welcome to the forums here at Avsim!Yes Hawaii is fun and interesting indeed! Have you purchased the Hawaii Adventure DLC yet? If not I would encourage you to consider, you get a lot more missions/challenges plus that way cool RV6 plane.I have found my most enjoyment out of flying the missions and challenges, have gotten many hours of fun out of them, and from what I see many more available to me. Never thought I would have something like challenges in a flight sim quite this entertaining. Also you have probably already seen, they have announced their next DLC to be Alaska and posted some screenshots, I think spring was mentioned as to when it will be available.Stick around, the Flight forum is evolving into a great place for info and sharing,Have fun!

Are you aware that there is a small bit of land outside the USA known as "the rest of the world" where aircraft are sometimes flown ?
:LMAO:+1I will actually be really annoyed if they release a load of US states and neglect anywhere else. There are far more interesting and diverse places to fly.

Why? It works for me. I know what I'm missing and I'm not sorry.Btw, let me clarify that I do not think freeware devs shouldn't bother unless they can achieve the same quality as say A2A or PMDG. Since they're not asking any money I can only assume that they do it for their own enjoyment, which is a good enough reason for me.

On the other hand, FSX has gotten pretty euro-centric as far as big releases, and the decision by Orbx and occasional others to concentrate some high quality work on other places was more than welcome. The original disinterest in Hawaii (which I am glad to see has changed) has never been matched by similar restlessness over the announcement of similarly (or even much more) isolated European and world locations.
