March 7, 201214 yr Hi Folks,I know this topic has come up already. I have been experiencing an FSX crash upon exiting flights in the -700NGX, which is the variant I fly (soon more of the -800, as WN is getting ready to receive their first -800 :)!). Yesterday, I deleted all liveries, rebooted, uninstalled the 800/900 & 600/700 SP1b versions, rebooted, reinstalled the original 800/900, the 800/900 SP1c, the original 600/700, the 600/700 SP1c, rebooted, all liveries, and did a test flight from KBUR-KLAS. All went great until I tried to exit the flight-->FSX crash on exit again. I've tried using <Esc> to close the flight, using the menu to end the flight, and exiting FSX directly from a flight. Nothing shows in Event Viewer. I'm running W7-64.This *seems* to be the only aircraft giving me this problem, and I have many 3rd party planes. Two questions:1. Is there some sort of fix for this?2. Will it eventually harm my FSX installation? (I hope not, because it would be a MAJOR PIA to have to redo it from the ground up!)Thanks,Jim Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
March 7, 201214 yr Hi Jim.I had the same issue but i installed the latest FSUIPC version and that fixed my CTD's when i click End flight.
March 7, 201214 yr I browsed the Microsoft FSX CTD sub forum here on AVSIM.I'd installed FSINN and whenever I exited FSX, I encountered a error. By using hat forum I found there is a radio thingy in there called Sky Blue or Blue Sky radio. Disable that i you have recently installed FSINN.Other than that, I suggest you browse the CTD forum for a solution. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma
March 7, 201214 yr Have you tried to solve that by deleting your default flight? Worked for me. Caio Belmock Mascarenhas de Campos
March 7, 201214 yr Commercial Member What kind of hardware is attached to your system as far as controllers, cockpit panels etc? We've had several cases where it's somehow having hardware connected that causes these crashes and disconnecting it stops them. We still don't know why it happens, all our attempts to log/debug the crashes have failed. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
March 8, 201214 yr Jim,If you are still using my Goflight MCP LUA script then thats probably the issue. A problem appeared after the 2nd PMDG service pack which caused the exit routine in the LUA script to hang. I understand the latest FSUIPC may have fixed this problem, but I haven't confirmed it yet. There is another work around by simply remarking out the exit routine in the LUA script (see post number #114 in this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/345151-goflight-efis-and-mcp-pro-partial-interface/page__st__100Best wishesSteve Stephen Munn
March 8, 201214 yr Author Hi Everyone -Steve - Yes, I'm still using your LUA script, so I'll try commenting out the exit routine. Andon - I have the latest version of FSUIPC installed (4.80)Ryan - I have the full GoFlight Airliner Captain hardware setup w/dual EFIS, CH Yoke, Logitech G940 systemCory - I don't have FSINN installedCaio - If commenting out LUA exit routine doesn't work, I'll try deleting the default flightThanks for your suggestions....will report back!Jim Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
March 8, 201214 yr Hi Jim,Its version 4.805 from here http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ that you need to fix the ipc.exit bug in LUA/FSUIPC.Best wishesSteve Stephen Munn
March 8, 201214 yr Author Hi Steve - I commented out the exit routine, did my test flight KBUR-KLAS, and ended the flight without a crash. YAY! Commenting out the exit routine appears to have fixed the problem....at least on the first flight afterwards....(logic would dictate that it should work anytime in the future).I downloaded the 4.805 version of FSUIPC, but havent's installed it. Should I re-enable the exit routine after I install this FSUIPC version? Thanks for your help (and everyone else who replied)!Jim Jim BlakeCaptain, SWA Virtual AirlinesReal World C172 Pilot, AOPA #06034701
March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member I solved this by changing to a simple, default aircraft before ending the flight. Usually the Cessna 172. Owner, Fulcrum Simulator Controls. fulcrumsim.com facebook.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols instagram.com/fulcrumsimulatorcontrols twitter.com/Fulcrum_SC

All it does is clear the Goflight display and stop the LUA routine running so its not majorly important - it just cleans things up.Glad its sorted.Best wishesSteve Stephen Munn

March 8, 201214 yr Author Ok, I've installed the 4.805 version of FSUIPC and re-enabled the LUA exit routine....will do a test flight and report back.@Paul T. - I had thought about changing to the FSX C172 before exiting a flight, but haven't tried that....hopefully the latest FSUIPC version will eliminate the problem. March 8, 201214 yr Commercial Member Guys - you can confirm that updating FSUIPC fixes a crash that actually names "PMDG_737NGX.dll" in the crash report? Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
