Oley has not set a timeline, as we are still in the Alpha stages of the project, However we, more so "The Boss" are hard at work and she is shaping up rather nicely.

The two dash 8 projects are definitely the two I have most been looking forward to. Hopefully Robert will announce something about it tomorrow in Munich. Ryan said Robert would be announcing their future plans.

While the PMDG model is one that I also am eagerly awaiting, we'll just just have to wait patienly for its status

It seems the wait for news on a PMDG Dash continues. I'd like to be surprised with an announcement from Munich but it looks like that's not gonna happen, along with the Dash itself. With members working on the 777, 747 v.2, and the DC-6, I just don't see how PMDG could make any progress on it.I really challenge PMDG to prove me otherwise.

Well unfortunately it looks like the dash 8 has fallen off the radar maybe after all the hype dies down for the heavys, they will go back and do it. I'll still buy both the 777 and the 747 when they come out, but I can't see the fun in sitting in front of a computer for 10-12 hours for an international flight. The short hops are a lot more fun.

It is great news to hear of the new products and their progress. Now, as far as challenging PMDG, that is somewhat a pointless direction, as they or any developer does not have to "prove" anything to the flight sim community. The only thing developers are really bound to do upon releasing a product is to ensure that it works within the confines of the platform upon which it has been designed (customer satisfaction).

Don't worry Simeon, they don't have to prove anything to the community...just me Just%20Kidding.gif .Na, i've resigned to the fact that whatever happens - happens; regarding the Dash. After looking and working with the bloody things for the last good while the attraction is starting to wear off...ha ha ha.

Understandable Patrick, however, I do like to see other options of the office. PSS back in the day was a very good addon (2002 with a port to 2004), but PSS took some short-cuts that I was not very keen of, knowing that they could have taken the extra steps to work on it. What kept me attracted to the PSS model is the choice of the EFIS and or the Electro-magnetical cockpits. Majestic was able to re-create the Dash well let's say "majestically" enough that it is still a keeper for me, and I use it quite a bit for training scenarios at work.

Is the DC6 not a prop?
As far I know the DC-6 has piston engines and therefore it is certainly a prop but no turboprop. Seeing no news on the Dash8 Classic whatsoever for a long time I presume it is dead.Well lets hope Majestic gets their Q400 done.

FWIW, video three of Robert's presentation in Munich appears to, during the Q&A, at around 6:25 or so, say something like: it's a fairly difficult plane to do, they want to do it, but it is going to be after the 777, the DC-6 and 747.2. I believe the exact quote was "This is something we still want to do, but I don't know when that will be." Straight forward answer. As a fan of turboprops, I'm disappointed, but it is what it is. Unless someone from the company wants to add some color to that, I guess we just drop it until after those other three projects.

They dropped it in favor of a emb-120er instead? What Robert says it will be out before the 777, 747 and dc6? Joygasm...... not.... :(A guy can dream can't he?

In regard to the PSS Dash, some of those short cuts involved the flight dynamics. I spent quite some time fine tuning the PSS Dash.

Pity the PMDG Dash has been put on the back burner.

Being a part of the PSS beta team (specifically for that project), those are not the only short cuts that they took unfortunately (please note, that I am in now way speaking ill of PSS's attempts).

The software had a lot more potentiality even within the confinement of 2002, but that is another topic. I will give PSS props on the cockpit design and functionality of the FMS. The FDE I know was a major challenge which I think was mainly attributed to 2002's poor turboprop engine. It was still a great bird for its time.

So what happened to PSS? It was in the news "again" a few months ago that they would soon be up and running under a new name.

So where are they? What happened this time?

One thing I will say about PSS is that their 2D cockpits were second to none.

do a modle basedon the very first dash 8 aka searial#1 or dash 8 001
