Hi all, sorry couldn't find anywhere suitable to put this. admins can move to appropriate location. Enjoy.OUTERRA in HD >> Unchartered New Zealandhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT1xT9_-7qE

Could be the foundation for a new perfect sim world, but as you say, no developer has shown real interest yet, so it will remain a dream for some time still. Outerra with just a very few autogen and scenery textures looks more real than FSX with all the addons you can throw at it. I've done my bit and payed for the demo. I think the talented Outerra developers deserve a beer on my tab! :)

I agree, the landscape and fog rendering looks awesome. Hopefully at some point and time in the next 5 to 10 years, maybe sooner, we will have a viable sim platform that looks like that and doesn't destroy fps at the same time.

Thanks Word Not Allowed. Now why didn't I think of that? Maybe I subconsciously wanted to create some hype about Outerra in the FSX thread. I don't think so, but, I could be in denial :-/

Plus there already is one thread going on.http://forum.avsim.net/topic/363760-outerra-tech-demo-finally-released/Why having two at the same time?

The mountains look too "grey" it's almost like being on the surface of the moon, but with trees.

Agree, but it is an early demo and there are few texture variations at this point. Textures can be changed and variation increased, but the mesh rendering and atmosphere is where Outerra shines.
