April 1, 201214 yr We got the J4100, and now we`re getting a DC6 and a Dash 8 (As far as I know).Alot of you folks love the 747 and 777, the big jets. I do to, but not as much as I looooove a piston or turbine powered spinner on a wing:-) Oh yeah! What would anyone of you hope for in future production of turboprops?Id love too see the Shorts 330/360 (have you seen the cockpit in those machines, just beautiful), or perhaps the F-50 orSaab 340/2000?But seriously, just look at that beautiful shorts cockpit!!Yikes thats pretty! Its gotta be a fun machine to fly Yngve GiljebrekkeENZV NSB
April 1, 201214 yr I love them also. Here in Milwaukee there are tons of them. They are so weird looking that they are beautiful, if that makes sense. Haha Robert Schumacher My PC: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, i7 6700k OC'd to 4.6, ASUS Rog Maximus VIII Hero Mobo, 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM, 2 Intel 750 Series SSDs, Creative Sound Blaster Z.
April 1, 201214 yr Cool fact for you about the Short 360: Notice any similarities between that and the Boeing 737? Yup, rumour has it that the outsourced work Shorts did on the tail for the 737 led Boeing to give them the basic tail design for use on the Short 360.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
April 1, 201214 yr I LOVE their uniqueness. I HATE working them amongst B190s, SF34s and other much faster turboprops. The SF34s really don't like 75 knot speed reductions.
April 1, 201214 yr Author I love them also. Here in Milwaukee there are tons of them. They are so weird looking that they are beautiful, if that makes sense. HahaThats exactly it! Its the oddity of their square like shape with that pointy nose and stubby airframe that makes them so charming.Cool fact for you about the Short 360: Notice any similarities between that and the Boeing 737?Hah! I never knew that, had to take an extra look and noticed it right away:-)I LOVE their uniqueness. I HATE working them amongst B190s, SF34s and other much faster turboprops. The SF34s really don't like 75 knot speed reductions. You fly them? Yngve GiljebrekkeENZV NSB
April 1, 201214 yr You fly them? No. I do control them in a TCA, however. Don't get me wrong, they look super cool. I'm still amazed that what looks to be a wing from a Piper Cherokee can keep that thing in the air!
April 2, 201214 yr Interestingly, one of the early advanced add-ons for FS was a Shorts 330, back in 1999. I did beta testing for it and the guy had to mail me the betas on CD's from the UK! It was all 2D panels but very nicely done, not sure what came of the developer. Mark Adeane - NZWN

They fly on magic dust:-)Interestingly, one of the early advanced add-ons for FS was a Shorts 330, back in 1999. I did beta testing for it and the guy had to mail me the betas on CD's from the UK! April 2, 201214 yr Bingo, thanks Yngve! It was Dai Griffiths. I didn't know he had put this online. Pity I no longer have my copy of FS98! Mark Adeane - NZWN
April 2, 201214 yr Since were sharing our favorite props, I'm gonna have to go with both the shorts and the saab 340. Both wonderful aircraft with awesome looking cockpits Robert Schumacher My PC: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, i7 6700k OC'd to 4.6, ASUS Rog Maximus VIII Hero Mobo, 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM, 2 Intel 750 Series SSDs, Creative Sound Blaster Z.
April 2, 201214 yr that cockpit looks more like something you'll find at the pointy end of a Blackhawk than a medium sized turboprop! lol. I'm sure we had the Shorts here in Aust (Sunstate?) - they're SUFFs (think the acronym for BUFFs used to describe B52s...but smaller) if you know what I mean. nah mate, bring on the SAAB 340 or Metroliner or even the old Embraer range (110, 120). April 2, 201214 yr Speaking of turboprops, I have a soft spot for one of these:More info here Iris is actually doing this whole series check out their Facebook page. John Bauer
April 2, 201214 yr I'm also a sucker for props, that's why the J-41 was my first PMDG aircraft ever. I only really got the 737NGX, because it's so damn good! While turbo props are a good compromise they are still a bit too "jetty", though. My heart really beats for radials! Gimme radials, baby! Gimme the DC-6 and other planes like it!
