Nvidia 301.24 and Nvidia Inspector 1.9.6.3

Featured Replies

Just tried the new 301.10 driver on my gtx 570 and it is performing quite nice but i need to do some more tests.

Also with this new driver you can activate FXAA in nvidia inspector but it adds only a massive amount of blur.

I don't think FXAA will be of any use in FSX. From what I understand current/future game developers will determine how the game makes use of FXAA, and obviously FSX was developed before this type of AA was introduced. Even if FXAA is forced by the driver, I think the game just goes "wut?"

TXAA needs to be implemented in the game, FXAA does not. FXAA is 100% post-processing.

The previous version of FXAA had a config file. Is it just enabled/disabled now with the driver?

Also, does adaptive Vsync work in the 500 series with this driver?

Yes but it doesnt work well in fsx it only adds a layer with blur..

Don't know about the adaptive Vsync since i use a 120hz monitor :)

can't you set a 1/4 target refresh rate for adaptive Vsync? (30 FPS)

Looks like it's either locked to half the monitor's refresh rate or regular Vsync. You could still try 1/2 and lower your FSX settings / fly in the middle of nowhere to get >60FPS. Then crank up the sliders and go to some demanding airport and see if Vsync is turned off below 60FPS

So please tell us a bit more about the "blur" the new driver adds. Can you describe the result in FSX a bit more. I am uncertain what you meant.

Kind regards,

The blur isn't caused by the driver. - The option of FXAA is what is causing the blurriness. This form of AA is very easy on the GPU but is quite low quality.

can someone post a screenie or two please?

Guys, i don´t wanna sound foolish but I can´t find that driver on the nVidia website. I only get the 296.10 which I allready have.

Update: All right, I found it. But that´s only for the GTX 680. And what´s with the rest of the cards?

Best regards, Steffen
