April 11, 201214 yr and it was tested by real pilots and they dont even pick up that their is a starter sound missing...
April 11, 201214 yr I can't believe some of the bugs I noticed only 2 minutes into the first flight. How did the missing #2 engine start up sounds get missed during testing? Some of the click spots aren't even close and looking at the navigation units makes me think I need new glasses. Back to the ngx and duke I go. Matt Wilson
April 11, 201214 yr Man, I REALLYwanted a good King Air, specifically a C90 as I have been in one several times. However this is a let down for the price charged. Even 29 bucks would be more reasonable for what is offered. At this point I am thinking that I should just get the RA Turbine Duke instead? Its almost like a C90 anyway in a lot of respects... April 11, 201214 yr Author Heck, Henning's king air at Aeroworx is about 8 or 9 years old now, is a lot better than this C90 and is still cheaper. The pressurization is modelled among other systems too.
April 11, 201214 yr It might not be a systems plane but charge accordingly then. Besides the pressurization is what makes a king air a king air. Otherwise it would be a beech 99. This should be simulated. Thats like not simulating the gear to come up and down.. There is no excuse for charging 40 bux and not simulating what SHOULD be simulated. Other products out there are only 2 times the price and offer 7-10 times the amount of systems simulation as the carenado. It should be stated EXACTLY what is simulated and what in NOT simulated before you buy it. Just like the nutrition value on food. I am getting tired of these let downs from certain devs. One of my friends that just got on a king air was looking forward to this release but after my review he will be disappointed. +1 BillyBob David M. April 11, 201214 yr and it was tested by real pilots and they dont even pick up that their is a starter sound missing... That's easy to answer. I don't know about the other guys in the team, but I never received a complete version (e.g. with sounds) before the release....
April 11, 201214 yr At this point I am thinking that I should just get the RA Turbine Duke instead? Its almost like a C90 anyway in a lot of respects... The turbine Duke is one fine bird. But it's a bit more expensive and offers other mishaps, as seen here. 10.000rpm on the props. http://forum.avsim.n...p/#entry2263377 So it's not that we're talking good against bad, but more or less 'this way' and 'a slightly different way'. However, I'd say she is a beautiful plane to get and this is after the last patch. Other products out there are only 2 times the price and offer 7-10 times the amount of systems simulation as the carenado. Does the fact that you are connected to PMDG have anything to do with that statement, Jack? Just asking. You bash iFly, Wilco and now Carenado. At least this happens without your former PMDG banner. Don't know if it helps though. It should be stated EXACTLY what is simulated and what in NOT simulated before you buy it. Just like the nutrition value on food. I am getting tired of these let downs from certain devs. So true on the last sentence. The NGX took more than three months to get a SP1, which then rendered it stable on some systems. And that Carenado plane is a day old, does not simulate the things your eyes like and you start a thread with 'I don't get it'. Very professional indeed. Word to the wise. They do offer refunds if you ask them. Way better examples and way more helpful character seen here. http://forum.avsim.n...25#entry2334360 So it's not like good examples are missing, one just has to focus on them, right?
April 11, 201214 yr I usually forget about things like the the bleed and other stuff like that and just enjoy flying. If it flys similar to its real world counterpart than I am good with it. If it doesn't, I, like may other people here, would not know the difference anyways. lol In essence, if little things regarding pressurization, bleed, etc.. are not modeled accurately, I personally, could care less. April 11, 201214 yr Author So as I stated yesterday I would do a review on it. Well I started right from the runway with engines running and ready to go and go to about 1000' then I got the notorious FS crash but here is what I found in about 3 minutes. NOW mind you, I havent read the manual so i might be missing the little gotchas so keep that in mind. 1) I don't seem to be able to set the flaps on an intermediate setting from 30-100% 2) autofeather arms at idle. shouldn't arm until about ~90% 3) I didn't see any white Ignition lights illuminate on the annunciator panel when I armed the auto-ignition. Mind you it has been a while since I flew the 90 and most of my time is in the 100/200 but I am pretty sure the C90 should do this. 4) the pressure controller bmp is messed a bit. the centre on the dial shouldn't turn at all. this is kind of hard to explain but anyone with some King Air time knows what I mean. 5) To me, the EFIS seems a bit dated, kind of stock FSXish. I would expect it to be more crisp. I see jagged edges on the FD even. Well that was a few minutes and found that already. See if I can find more for those that are interested.
April 11, 201214 yr And those five items justify the rant from post1? Ok. However, thumbs up for the now much more readable style the bugs get reported. Keep up that mood.
April 11, 201214 yr Best FSX pilots I know............. RW COMPUTER PROGRAMERS! :) Not rw pilots. ArDee
April 11, 201214 yr Author CoolP, let's not get into a harsh debate and keep this civilized among consumers. You wouldn't against a consumer reporting a bad experience in consumer reports if you were buying a car would you? Now I am not trying to slam Carenado here. I am just looking at the price and thinking "well for 40 bux some of these systems should be simulated". For 20 bux this plane would be a deal. But when you look at some competitors how can you justify 40 bux on this C90. The PMDG J41 is 45 bux and we all know that is way more in depth than this 90. Am I being biased because I helped PMDG with the NGX? No. I would have been biased regardless. We all know they make the best products on the market. If anyone says otherwise they are just fooling themselves. BUT there are some other great companies out there too. What impressed me with PMDG is when I was beta testing Robert told me to "snag" EVERYTHING no matter how big or small. Everything was important. That just tells me they are putting quality ahead of everything else. So I know first hand how in depth they go and THAT is why I am impressed with them. But like I said, I am not out to slam Carenado, I believe I am here to let every potential consumer know what they are getting.....good and bad. But being a pilot IRL the pessimist comes out in me a lot (a trait among pilots and funny enough there is a good reason for that). I am not saying DONT buy this product but instead I am keeping the future buyer aware of things that they might have assumed were going to be simulated and are not. I do not see anything wrong with that. As for me, you should know by now I am an extremely picky reviewer among FS products but more so with products I have real life time on. I am just trying to better the quality of the products out there. thats all.
April 11, 201214 yr That's easy to answer. I don't know about the other guys in the team, but I never received a complete version (e.g. with sounds) before the release.... Thats rather strange in itself. Why would the FDE man not get a full version? Glenn Ryzen 3700X, X570 Pro Wifi, 32GB 3600mhz RAM, Nvidia Titan Xp "Galactic Empire", RM750x PSU, H700 case, 2x NVMe M2 SSD, 1x SATA SSD
April 11, 201214 yr Jack, huge thumbs up on the improved rhetoric. I know, all for the customer's sake. ^_^ If it wasn't for the thread title or the initial rants of yours, it would look much more reasonable of course. Don't worry, we did get your love for PMDG and the non-love for other devs. So lets just hope you stick to the more professional ways of reporting bugs, which, for itself, shouldn't be a problem in forums like these. Glad I could help you.
