Recently I've noticed an increasing number of duplicate (and even triplicate) posts. the sdoftware used to prevent this being done inadvertently. Has there been some change?

Gerry Howard

There are still double or tripple posts around.

Looks like something got out of control...

Dear AVSIM team, are you aware of the problem?

Yes , and have pinpointed when and how it happens , refreshing the page after hitting post ,

A few more adjustments , additions and abilities are in view before the Forum and Front Page update work is completed.

Thanks for Everybodys patience and understanding during the process , its appreciated .

Folks, please be cognizant when going to hit the Post button, only hit it ONCE. A post will be duplicated as many times as you press post while it's thinking. I noticed I accidentally double posted when I hit Post and didn't notice anything change. We are working on this.

Sincerely,

Chase

Chase,

Of course you are right. But there seems to be a deeper problem anyway.

When I just post a reply to a topic, it never hangs for me. But when I create a new topic (I did it a few minutes ago), the page hangs indefinitely.

The way around (not a solution in the long term for sure!) is to leave AVSIM and then open it again - the new topic will be there.

That's what I did, so luckily the result is just one copy of my thread.

Pressing the F5 key in IE will force a reload of the page.

Dear AVSIM team, are you aware of the problem?

I've been hunting around for duplicate threads and getting rid of them (especially in the FS9 forums as I check them regularly ), but last two days I haven't had a lot of time available - sorry for that, Rafal.

As far as I'm aware Tom and John are working on the issue and for some people - clearing the cache seemed to help get rid of the problem.

At any rate it seems that people end up pushing the post button for new topics more than once because nothing happens when they press it the first time - but in fact it does post it. Just load the forum (which you are posting in) in a another tab or page (whatever you prefer) and refresh it after clicking the button to check if your topic has been posted.

Don't worry we're aware of the problem and trying to sort it out.

This should have been corrected as of late last night; another setting that got changed in the forum upgrade to the latest version, that has now been set back "correctly." Post times along with dupes should all but be eliminated now.
