May 23, 201214 yr I'v seen so many reactions on this forum e.g.: please give us ..., no more ..., i would like ... There are various threads in which members post there hopes or to what MS would/should/hopes to develop this product. Is it useless energy? Should one only just focus on the gameplay(advises)? Are there members who have seen that their mail/reactions to the producer of the game are followed. If you whish to react, I suggest only facts. Feelings/opinions have been posted enought in other threads. Thanks for reading
May 23, 201214 yr I believe that at least one of my 3 emails to the MS FLIGHT team turned out to be "incorporated" into the first patch. There were errors on the engine operations checklitst, namely on the way MP and RPM should be operated. I emailled my suggestions and when the patch was released one day after I started reading on those info texts that are displayed while we wait for something the exact procedure to be followed when one needs to reduce/increase MP and/or Prop RPM. May 23, 201214 yr I've made suggestions that appear to have been adopted. For example, when giving VOR directions to aerocaches, they previously used the term "radial" incorrectly. They stopped doing that after I raised the issue here and on the Steam Forum. Coincidence? Possibly. Or maybe they listened and recognized their mistake.
May 23, 201214 yr I`m often in the developer chat on STEAM. They don`t talk about future plans and are not allowed to talk about things in details. They do listen and read all the feedback. They are and will definately fix bugs that are reported. But they will not change the masterplan for Flight. Flight will never be FSXI. They will stick to the plan J. Howard announced weeks ago. But we don`t know what the plan is. But I doubt there will be major enhancements like GPS/FMC autopilot or similar. Loooks like Flight will be what it is know, just with more scenery and more planes (with and Without cockpits).

Loooks like Flight will be what it is know, just with more scenery and more planes (with and Without cockpits). That's ok for me :-)... For my IFR flights I start ELITE, for airliners I'll start PSX (Aerowinx) and for soaring, Condor or SW... I am also considering either RoF or DCS p-51, dont know yet :-| Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
May 24, 201214 yr They certainly are listening, I know some are here reading this forum on a regular basis. I am sure it is not to just pass the time. I think they are taking notice for sure, but how much of what is expressed can actually be translated into implentation in some form in Flight, is another story. We know, early on, much was said about the way too sensitive controls, especially using joysticks. One of the early updates to Flight , corrected this behaviour - or at least made it a whole lot better, by introducing non linear curves for the joysticks in the standard.xml file. I also know, in the early days, I was pressing hard asking for implentation of Track IR support, and asking other Track IR users to email them the same expressing their wishes. We know it was reported on the beta forum, that while nothing official yet, they are working on it. I do hope that is true. So I would always encourage anyone, with a strong desire to see something added, or something changed or corrected, make your feelings known by emailing the Flight team, and expressing on the forums. It certainly can not hurt. Don B
May 24, 201214 yr I will just add my vote to agree that they are listening. How do I know. Well first I was able to meet with the team back in March so I got a chance to talk to them about a number of things and gain a sense of their commitment etc. Second I am coordinating the suggestion list and I know that it was converted by a member of the team into a spread sheet and sent to the whole team. Third I know who the Flight Team are on the various forums and I know they are watching and listening. Of course I agree with the folks who have already said that we do not know how much of this will translate into reality in Flight. However I am a firm believer that it you do not engage in dialog with folks then you will not get listened to. So jaw jaw is much better than war war! May 24, 201214 yr Author Thanks everyone for your reaction. For what it is worth: some conclusions based on facts: * the realized 'aftersales help' from the gameproducer is mostly on technical issues (mmm.., quite logical, assuming that 'bugs' have to be repaired) * no one has received a kind of feedback from the gameproducer (this includes even no 'thank-you-for-your-help' reaction) * most appreciated reactions are speaking in terms as: I believe ..., maybe they listening ..., I know .., but basicly it are assumptions, there wasn't a literaly feedback * as I'm not in the developpers-chat/forum I wonder what kind of 'communication-culture' there is? May I conclude that all kinds of complains/advises/influence on development doesn't belong on this place/this forum, but directly to the producers mailbox? (Like Dburne wrote). In fact: this forum is 'just a gameplay' forum, one can focus on a freely exchange of experience of playing the game. And luckily there are many respected contributors/members who act in line with this ... Happy flying
May 24, 201214 yr May I conclude that all kinds of complains/advises/influence on development doesn't belong on this place/this forum, but directly to the producers mailbox? Well, I guess you can read something and then conclude the exact opposite of what the evidence shows, if you want. As mentioned, several of the seemingly-incorporated suggestions were simply made on this and other forums that the Devs are known to monitor. Based on the preponderance of the evidence, it seems likely that suggestions made both privately and as part of public discussion are noted and sometimes acted upon. At least, when feasible.
May 24, 201214 yr * no one has received a kind of feedback from the gameproducer (this includes even no 'thank-you-for-your-help' reaction) Wrong. Some examples: - "Microsoft Flight - Thanks to those who are suggesting updating to Windows 7". - "Microsoft Flight - Thanks so much for your feedback, everyone! :-)". - "Microsoft Flight - Thanks, Houston! That's good to know." ... and even given reward: - "Microsoft Flight - thanks for staying on topic and contributing to the discussion! Would you like a free DLC plane?" http://www.facebook.com/msflight At the same time - I want to thank you scruffyduck for your great efforts!!
May 24, 201214 yr Wrong. Would you like a free DLC plane?" http://www.facebook.com/msflight At the same time - I want to thank you scruffyduck for your great efforts!! ... and even more. Microsoft showed thanks to many of the beta testers by providing the initial set of DLC for free. I’d say that is quite a bit more than just saying thanks.
May 24, 201214 yr At the same time - I want to thank you scruffyduck for your great efforts!! +100! We all owe a huge thanks to scruffy, he has put a lot of effort into the " Big Suggestion List" and played a big part into bringing these things we would all like to see into focus for the Flight Team's perusal. Many thanks ScruffyDuck! Your efforts are greatly appreciated by all I am sure! Don B
