And another question: if I install Essentials separately now, can I uninstall it later, without having to uninstall my complete REX (it's a pain only, takes well about 30minutes all in all), and install the REX Ess. OD upgrade?

 

@Word Not Allowed - Yes you can uninstall REX Essentials separately since you installed the full version and it is installed in a different folder structure.

@flyhalf - Yes you can keep REX OD until we release REX Ess + OD. Yes REX Essentials is a FREE upgrade. The forum is being hammered right now with downloads of the upgrade version.

@Christopher - I am not sure what post #33 is on the REX Forum? Are you referring to the forum itself or the upgrade link for REX Essential?

Just want to say that Ess is great i love it. The speed that the textures gets loaded into fsx , the new look and features of the program config. The new sounds feature.

@Word Not Allowed - If you downloaded the full version of REX E you can have it running side by side with other versions of REX. You just can't upgrade REX + OD with the current version of REX Essential.

When looking at the REX forums all the advice if you want to use ESS is to uninstall REX OD and then install ESS, but you are saying you can run both side by side?

Is that definitely right? Do I just install ESS to a different location? If yes to all that then how would I decide if I wanted to use ESS or REX OD for each flight?

Keithy, if you are a REX customer and purchased from the flightsimstore.com, then you can simply log in to your account at FSS and REX Essential is already available inside your account. Simply download and install that. REX OverDrive will be release soon, and you can add that upon REX Essential.

Yes you can install REX Essential (FULL VERSION) into its default folder and leave REX OD. But understand REX Ess will not be using OD textures.

I've had a weird problem going on with the WX/WASys. Every single time it loads, it loads at with the map at Tampa, and has a flight plan that's going to Phoenix?

 

I can't understand at all why it's there, but I tried loading up a different flight plan and starting the flight; it was still there...

 

edit: And also, I've noticed that starting up FSX by itself doesn't automatically start the WX either. I have the box "enable auto start the weather engine" ticked but still nothing...
