May 30, 201214 yr No, When in the cold and dark state, IRS units are shut down and stationary... Ró. Ahh okay, thanks for the clarification. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
May 30, 201214 yr One of the biggest things is that the IRSes are turned off in the LONG state and will have to be realigned in the preflight. Typically you'd re-align the IRS on a short turn also, there's no reason not to. Ró. Rónán O Cadhain.
May 31, 201214 yr SAS pilots told me that it is mandatory for them to do a realign during all stops. If they are in a hurry they are allowed to do a quick align. Typically you'd re-align the IRS on a short turn also, there's no reason not to. Ró. Read you post about the different states a pilot gets an airplane and I wonder, what do you call the different states? Is it just: "Hello Rónán, is the airplane parked in the long haul state?" or do you have other names for them? Also wondering if the names are standardized or is it company specific? Regards Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.

No defects, here's the tech log. We'll start fueling soon once you get us the final figures and we'll let you know when that starts so you can put the appropriate procedures in place. Let us know if you need anything." Not exactly sure by what you mean when you say "Also wondering if the names are standardized or is it company specific?", Could you clarify please? Rónán. Rónán. ok, it was a bit different from what I expected. I thought that for example the state you just said had a name like "secured", "ready", "shut down" or something like that. My guess would have been in the line of "Good morning Captain. the airplane is secured, talk to you later about the amount of fuel." Didn't know that you actually tell everything that has been made. Anyway thank you for your help ^_^ Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
June 1, 201214 yr It might really depends on airline to airline, in some cases I'm sure the first pilot won't know what state the plane is in during the early am until he gains access to the cockpit. As for fuel load I think that the fueling guy gets the numbers straight from dispatch especially if fueling is done by in house employees. Alex Jevdic --- KORD A<380-----Love at first flight
June 1, 201214 yr I would really want this start up sequence. My guess is that PMDG already have implemented a kind of "realistic" and "fast" start up and just laugh at this post I think this would be a great option. That way those who wish to have a quick startup sequence can and those who want the realistic can have there wish too. This would be similar to the IRS setting in-place on the NGX and would compliment the same setting on the 777. Oliver Cooksey Owner of the PMDG 737, 747 and Majestic Q400.

June 4, 201214 yr Already in... Cold and dark is highly unrealistic for real crews, Luke is right - that's why we included the SHORT and LONG panel states for the NGX. They simulate what pilots would normally see at the start of their flights/sectors - even if it's the first flight of the day or something, the ground crews already take care of getting the plane up and running, the air inside warmed/cooled etc before the crew gets there. Correct Ryan. I have never seen cold and dark. Only Engineers/ground crews would deal with that side. I think crew times would be affected if the cockpits were cold and dark.
June 4, 201214 yr Would I be right in thinking if we shut down the aircraft to cold and dark, then saved the flight it would save the panel state so we could get c&d by selecting a saved flight file? Alaister Kay
