Boeing 700 series

Looking for a quality payware 737/747/757/767 or 777 that will run in FS9 (not looking for FSX compaability). But must be high quality in terms of reality.

Reason is to learn handling without the distractions of scenery and possible stutters within FSX.

FS9 has been installed specifically for this purpose. Recommendations would be warmly welcomed, thanks.

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

The iFly 737 series is generally considered to be extremely good in terms of realism and value for money - even though it is a bit pricy!

737: iFly ftw, no doubt about this,PMDG is too old and there is no reason to get it at the moment

747: PMDG, no doubt the best 747 out there

757: I'd go with Qualitywings, many liveries, many options, great support

767: LevelD if you want realistic system, CLS if you want better exterior + VC but simple system

777: PSS merge with wilco. PSS the best 777 system with POSKY the best exterior+VC.

Future 787: Qualitywings

iFly 737 NG (600/700/800/900/BBJ) series for short and medium haul.

PMDG 747-400(F) for long haul and heavy aircraft operations.

Additionally get TOPCAT (payware, but free for 744), vRoute/FSNav (both free) for planning, some good manuals and off you go.

737 seems to be the common fancy & product descriptions read well...that will do for me. Many thanks. Now off to Flight 1.

iFly 373 for sure. But there's a great classic Boeing "700 series" you left off your list - the 727. Not only one of the most loved of all the Boeing jets by its pilots, it is also available for FS9 as one of the best products ever released for the sim. I am referring to the Dream Fleet 727 available from Flight1. It is superb - one of the most flawless products ever released for the sim.

The new VC textures from Zinnertech have also brought the LevelD 767 back to the forefront (is that an oxymoron?) of FS9 products - strongly recommend.

I don't own the PMDG 747 but everyone who does loves it.

I do not recommend the Quality Wings 757 unless you just want a 757 for the sake of having one. It has excellent exterior modelling and sound, lots of versions and liveries - but there are just too many quirks and weaknesses for me and I have taken it off my hard drive.

I think the list of DF727, iFly 737, PMDG 747 and LevelD 767 gives you a great range of Boeing products - different sizes and technological sophistication and all four are outstanding FS9 products. And when Qualitywings release the 787 you will have a perfect combination.... :Peace:

Cheers

Would agree with Rafal, the Dreamfleet 727 is one of the best 'classic' Boeings and a pleasure to fly in FS9 (if you are going for a 727, go for the Dreamfleet and not the Captain Sim product). Otherise I would go with the majority here - iFly 737, Level D 767, PMDG 747 and Quality Wings 757. If you want a 707 the Captain Sim version is not bad but the support is appalling (and non-existent now according to CS for FS9 - not that there ever was any support even before Captain Sim denied the existence of FS9 - one dreadful company IMO!).

Would agree with Rafal, the Dreamfleet 727

Hah, it was Ian to be honest! Big%20Grin.gif

I must admit I've never tried 727...

Hi Rafal. Thanks for giving me the credit. I was going to see if he liked the DF727 or not. If he didn't then I would have let you take the blame! :Just Kidding:

Seriously, if you ever want the absolute pinnacle in FS9 classic airliners, the DF727 can't be beaten IMO. It is a bit like the LevelD - so far ahead of its time that it is still cutting edge all these years later and absolutely flawless...

Thanks all for the HU. have gone for the 737 NG. Mainly due to the fact that I have been given access to the original Boeing Manuals.

Should prove to be an interesting Summer, Fall & Winter....and Spring even !

Arnie....if it ain't broke, don't fix it...

Now that we're talking about classics, you forgot about the older 737s:

732: Tinmouse (no payware can beat it)

733/4/5: Wilco

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

... And Ready for Pushback B747-200. VC is showing it's age, but otherwise one of the best add-ons IMHO. I've flown it more than any other aircraft and still love it to pieces.

Jure
