July 8, 201411 yr Me either :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 15, 201411 yr Met these guys at Duxford during the Flying legends, they were demo'ing the Hawk in 3D. I have to say they were really nice chaps and the product looked VERY impressive; it's not an aircraft i would have purchased, after the chat and demo they made one more sale from me. Ian R Tyldesley
July 15, 201411 yr Although I only fly the p51d, and now the TF51d, and the helicopters ( uh-1h and Mi-8 ) from time to time, and soon the Fw-190, the Hawk will surely join my "hangar" as soon as it get's released :-) I plan to use it with other users online for aerobatics :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

They do virtual acrobatics, the lead programmer is also the flight lead. Might be worth checking out. Ian R Tyldesley

Did you try the Oculus Rift they had set up there?
July 15, 201411 yr Did you try the Oculus Rift they had set up there? They didn't have a Oculus Rift at Duxford, at least not in the morning. I believe from what they said the OR was set up by another company at RIAT...didn't see that either must have missed that, it was in the technology park, RIAT is non-stop displays so i couldn't see everything. They did have 3D glasses and i was very impressed. Ian R Tyldesley

July 29, 201411 yr Author Commercial Member VEAO Hawk Update. Dev Diary Update 29/07/2014 Final testing of the AI Hawk in 1.2.9 is under way and as you can see from the screen below the testing team are having fun blowing up my aircraft!!! A couple of small bugs to fix, but as you can see, the full damage model will be part of the AI aircraft, something I know has been asked about quite a lot. We also have a team of ED testers that are looking at the AI and base mod for us as well so final hurdles are being jumped over racing to that finish line!! Legal issues have been resolved, well agreed on a path forward, can I get a WHOOP WHOOP!! (as I'm sure the lawyer will be doing when he sends me the bill). The new website and store are being developed and will be going to our testing team early next week to start testing those transactions making sure paying for the Hawk will be as seamless as possible. Details for Steam and ED store are also being compiled. Hawk promo video is being recorded and edited next week so expect that to be on YouTube. Subscribe to our YouTube channel so you get the update when it's out. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTT...z10UWbwHs9Bd0g So when we said soon, we meant soon. I can't give final dates just yet but when we're at that last dash to the finish line over the last hurdle I'll let you know. Enjoy the eye candy whilst I weep at my broken aircraft :'( Cheers, Chris. July 30, 201411 yr Fantastic! I'll look forward to the Hawk's release for sure. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

ABOUT THE HAWK T.1A The Hawk first entered service with the RAF in 1976, both as an advanced flying-training aircraft and a weapons-training aircraft. The Hawk T1 version is currently used at RAF Valley for fast-jet pilot advanced flying training with No 208® Squadron, and at RAF Scampton by the RAF Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows. The T1A is used for weapons and tactical training on No 19® Squadron at RAF Valley, and by No 100 Squadron at RAF Leeming for advanced fast-jet weapons systems officer training and operational support- flying. DUXFORD, UK, March 24th, 2015 – VEAO, in cooperation with The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics, are pleased to announce the release of Hawk for DCS World from the DCS e-shop. Hawk for DCS World includes the BAE Hawk T.1A, an advanced flying-training aircraft and a weapons-training aircraft. While the Hawk T1 is used solely in the advanced flying-training role, the Hawk T1A is equipped to an operational standard and is capable of undertaking a number of war roles. The Hawk T1 version is currently used at RAF Valley for fast-jet pilot advanced flying training with No 208® Squadron, and at RAF Scampton by the RAF Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows. I was initially skeptical of how accurate the modelling would be of the handling and the jet engine response. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I found the controls and aircraft responses accurate. The flight model performs as well as the full motion simulator used by the RAF. Flying in formation was easy and very similar to the real thing. I was extremely impressed by the headset integration and immediately felt operational pilots could benefit from training on this software. In short, the VEAO Hawk is more than a game and comparable to a military grade full motion simulator. In fact, I would even go so far as to say the terrain graphics are higher fidelity whilst flying at low level.” Lt Cdr Matt Deavin RNR Hawk Pilot Fast Jet Qualified Weapons Instructor Hawk for DCS World pre-purchase includes the Hawk T.1A with a standard flight model for $31.99 USD (a 20% discount over the final price). In the spring of 2015, an Advanced Flight Model (AFM) will be available as a separate product with an upgrade option directly from VEAO.
