July 14, 201213 yr Strange shaped island Another unfinished island? Landing on strange shaped inland on to Adak Landing at Adak
July 14, 201213 yr It looks like your game is corrupted. Post some more screenshots of other areas so we can see whether or not it might be corrupted. It could be a bug: Coding Error, Scenery Load Error, Installation Error, etc. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
July 14, 201213 yr I'm 98% sure that it is a scenery coding error in Alaska now. Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
July 14, 201213 yr I'm 98% sure that it is a scenery coding error in Alaska now. So we should all be able to see it then?
July 15, 201213 yr Interesting goof there. I wonder how it really looks, like compared between Flight and GMap? BTW, what was the time of year setting? Winter? There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
July 15, 201213 yr It's part of Tagalak Island according to charts. The satellite view doesn't have an image in that specific location, which possibly means there's no real terrain data there. It looks like it should be a few small islands rather than one larger one. Why would anyone think that was corruption? Hook Larry Hookins Oh! July 15, 201213 yr Alaska has brought a ton of bugs to Flight. Hope the next update fixes em. (Unlike FSX, we get continuous updates and patches instead of service packs) Alex Leung Aerospace Engineering Undergraduate Glider & Private Pilot via Royal Canadian Air Cadets
July 15, 201213 yr I'd estimate the chances of that island getting fixed are somewhere between zilch and nil. The terrain data available for the area west of Dutch Harbor is pretty messy. One of those screen shots shows the stair stepping very well. It might be worth reporting it on the Steam forum in any case. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! July 15, 201213 yr LOL that little "circle" island actually has a hill on it -- made of water. It's fun driving the Icon uphill in the water. There's no place like this place, so this must be the place.
July 16, 201213 yr I chose Adak as my "home" airport and Whittier as my "vacation" airport. I have flown this route several times but typically at night either in fog or clandestine. Interesting shape for sure. Was this added to the bug thread? I really hope someone keeps that thread and then compares it to the next few updates and see what is fixed. Like I have said before, hard to get 600,000 square miles 100% accurate so these finds are more of easter eggs to me now :-)
