  1. Great  Got it working fine now thanks to AnkH's suggestion of clicking "prefer maximum performance" in the nVidia driver menu under "power management". Flyinside now running at 24/92 fps Thanks all.
  2. Well, tried all that. No luck. I'm still getting poor fps, most annoying. With the GTX970 and Flyinside I was getting a usable 30/90 fps, now with the GTX1070 and new driver it's down to 20/12 fps. I'm hoping it's a new driver problem that'll be fixed soon.
  3. Thanks for that. I had remembered to delete the shaders folder but not Prepar3D.cfg. I'll give it a go.
  4. I do hope someone can point me in the right direction here. I've just upgraded from a GTX 970 to a GTX 1070 and my P3D frame rate has dropped considerably. Not what I was expecting at all. I removed my 970 and installed the 1070, completely removed the Nvidia drivers with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and clean installed 368.81. Everything went fine with Valley Benchmark showing a healthy increase in score from 1967 to 2890. Fine so far, until I ran P3D. Before the change at Orbx KPSP in a Lancair Legacy I was getting 42 fps. Running with the same settings with the 1070 I'm now getting 23 fps. My system is: 6700k, 32GB ram, MSI GTX1070 Gaming X, Win10 Home on an M2 SSD and P3D on a 500GB 840 EVO SSD. Thanks for your advise.
  5. Well I'm not going to complain, drip, whine or moan about a product that's not even out yet. I think it looks great. If Rex can marry their textures and inject full weather systems into P3D then it'll be a certain buy for me. Well done Rex.
  6. LOL I may well give up flight simulation for good. It's far more entertaining reading the comings, goings and speculation in threads like this. So many strong theories and opinions. I love it. Keep going. You guys are so, so funny, love you all so much. Thank you, it's brightened my day no end. :p0816:
  7. If third party software HAS to have WIN9 to run correctly and checked for 'WIN9' it could possibly be confused by WIN95 or WIN98 if it only checked the first 4 characters. At least I think that is what was explained to me. I glazed over.
  8. I agree Kevin, I think I'll hang on for the official version too.
  9. Great shots Ryan. The A2A C182 and GTN750 is really a great combo.
  10. Those were the days my friend We thought they'd never end We'd fly at Meigs forever and a day We'd fly the route we'd we choose We'd fly and never lose Those were the days, oh yes those were the days.
  11. Most definitely P3D2. It's the way forward.
  12. It's spelled 'WHINE'
  13. Thanks Rafal, I'll stick with the A319 for the moment then.
  14. Generally speaking I'm a bit of a low 'n' slow GA kind of pilot. I just love the A2A C172 & C182 flying above detailed ORBX scenery, but recently I've moved on to the Aerosoft Airbus A318/319. I'd never really enjoyed the tube liners before but these just won't let go. They keep me coming back for more. My question is: Is it worth forking out for the A320/321 as well as it's essentially the same aircraft only larger. Or am I wrong? Are there any/many differences in flying the bigger brothers? Thanks
  15. I always fly Orbx about 2500ft, it seems just right for me.
  16. I'll send you the address. It's the UK.
  17. Hi Can you tell me when you will be posting out the printed checklist cards. I ordered them on 3rd April and they've not arrived as yet. Thanks
  18. Thanks Benjamin, excellent customer service. :good:
  19. Hi Benjamin One other thing with Part 3 is that the audio seems dreadfully out of sync with the video. At the start it's about 5 seconds out and gets worse towards the end. Other than that it's a great series, thanks.
  20. I don't hate many things in life. I'm not vindictive. Quite laid back really. Until it comes to the word 'if' I just want to take it out into the yard, smash it's face in and bury it where no one can find it again. :Waiting: Some words I love. 'released' is one, 'get it now' are three more. ^_^
  21. Oh dear. Video removed by user... Do you have any other samples prior to purchase?
  22. I fully agree Rendi, the Oculus may be fine if you are playing on one of those console toy thingies where you just have one controller and know where all the buttons are by feel, but flight simming is a whole different ball game. How the hell would I be able to see my second monitor with the flight planning software running?
  23. Thanks for the info. It is very good news, even though there will always be complaints about the things that haven't been fixed yet.
  24. I ditched FSX ages ago and I'm glad I did. P3Dv2.1 has been a dream. Yes, there are still a few minor niggles but nothing compared to what I had to suffer with FSX. Are we any closer to Nirvana yet? - Damn right we are. Is there still belief that this is the replacement platform for FSX? - Never any doubt. Have we found fixes for all the niggles? - Not all of them but most rational people can live with what's left, at least we now have a team of professionals working on it (unlike the obsolessciant FSX). Or is everything still conjecture, trial and error, speculation and band-aids for now? - You really do have a big downer on P3D. Be happy. There will always be conjecture and speculation about up-comming releases - that's a good thing isn't it? It promotes interest. - Trial and error is mostly used by tinkerers and .cfg manipulators to tweak as much out of it as possible - ideal for those with weak or under powered systems. By band-aids I presume you mean the fixes, updates and improvements LM put out. Well I suppose it's a lot better than NOT supplying fixes, updates and improvements (much like Microsoft don't). Be brave, jump in, the water is fine.
