X-Plane 10.10 beta 3 coming

Did you all try the programmable quick views system ? I think it finally gives 3d cockpits perfect usability. You can redefine views in a snap, and transitions are perfectly smooth.

It's a great idea but it doesn't work when TrackIR is enabled in the equipment menu, if we could use both together it would be awesome.

Cheers, Andy.

I just tried it, and I must say performance wise it's very good. My system is only an E6850 3.0Ghz C2D and before 10.10 I would be lucky to get 6 FPS running at high detailed levels and forget about HDR AA. Now I'm able to run very high detail levels with HDR AA, and get 15-18FPS. The only issue I see with this version, is still setup of Joystick and functions could be smoother, and Clouds at night are too bright, they look like daylight.

Thanks

Tom

If only the clouds had that soft yellow glow from the light on the ground..

I agree, cloud color at night is too bright. I think it could be easily corrected by editing a specific texture:

(This image is part of a number of textures you find in the \Resources\bitmaps\skycolors\ folder, each one is for a different weather condition).

The image represents the cloud colors as a function of sun elevation (horizontal axis) and altitude (vertical axis).

As you can see, clouds are white during day, then fade to orange (lower clouds first, then higher clouds), and then they fade to dark grey (not quite black).

One could actually modify the texture to make lower clouds appear with a soft yellow glow at night, to account for the light reflected by the cities below.

I would settle for just regular ole clouds like we have in the other sim.

Officially retired

I have a Thrustmaster Warthog but have not tried it yet, the new bug I have is when it's dark using the United 747 the glass cockpit instruments don't show you can see the runway, the gauges have gone, it's ok in the daylight.

Same here on some aircraft. Will check again today and file a bug report. Suggest others file so a trend can be seen.

I am experiencing high oil pressure in my C208. Every time I lift off I get engine fires all the time after just a couple of minutes. Any ideas why this happens? I am not so sure when this all started, it might even have been before the recent 10.10 betas. I jumped on board when b2 released. Am now using b3.

Starting to get really annoyed here.. Now I cant turn on the batteries in my CRJ200.

Edit: now it seems like I can only turn the batteries on if there is daytime in the sim....?
