Question RE: Eaglesoft Biz Jets

Featured Replies

I've been itching to fly some imaginary corporate clients around and have decided that I'd like to purchase one of the Eaglesoft Biz Jet offerings to see if it will satisfy my hunger. My question is this, out of the Beechjet 400A, the Hawker 400XP, or the Citation X, which one would any of you Eaglesoft customers recommend? I'd like to start out with one, and then, possibly, get the others at a later date. Out of those that are available, which one seems the most realistic to you and which one do you prefer to fly? Just looking for some opinions here. If you can recommend any more corporate aircraft offerings, either payware or freeware, please, be my guest and do so. Thanks in advance.

I love the 400a.... I don't have the CitationX, so I really can't comment on it. I think there's no compelling reason to get both the 400A and the 400XP. Out of all my payware aircraft, I do consider the 400A one of my best purchases, and it has a beautiful visual model, inside and out.-John

On top of what John said, you'll also get the Premier 1 with your purchase of the Beechjet 400A.Jim

Hi Dan,The Beechjet 400A and the Hawker 400XP are very similar products. I have the Hawker 400XP and the Citation X. The Citation X is definitely the nicest and most realistic. But I love the Hawker 400XP it is certainly nothing to sneeze at. The team learned a lot of the ins and outs of developing MSFS aircraft while doing the Beechjet and Hawker, so the Citation X is a little more mature product in that regard. If you are looking to get the best one they have then get the Citation X. You wouldn't be disappointed with any of these three aircrafts though as they are all of high quality in my opinion.Cheerio,Jim

You can't go wrong with any of those planes. All the Eaglesoft plane are very good. :-)Right now Eaglesoft is doing the beta tests on the Citation 551 II/SP. Soon we will have a new Eaglesoft plane to fly.

In reality, the Hawker 400XP is the renamed Beechjet 400A which started life as Mitsibishi Diamond. Engine upgrades and evolution into the Beech system have resulted in many refinements over the years.

Happy landings,

I too explored getting the X this weekend, very close, but decided against it. IMO it is a bit spendy for not having a flushed out FMS/CDU. Luckily, the producers stated that that the FMS/CDU is limited in capabilities - and for that I very much appreciate their honesty.Just like the big ones, the real X has extensive autoflight modes and navigations facilities. I will keep watching their site closely though for a sale price or some type of package pricing that may pull me over the edge. They do make very nice products.

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. I went ahead and purchased the X since a few make it in and out of KIND every day. I must say, what a beauty! A real pleasure to hand-fly and the visuals are absolutely stunning, especially the FA in back. ;) Appreciate the help!

I have the Citation X and the Beechjet 400A. On a scale of 0-10, I would give them about 8.3 8.1 respectively. For your calibration pleasure, I would rate the PMDG 737NG series about a 9.3. I would rate the default Lear 45 around a 6.4. This is an overall product rating, encompassing visuals and functionality. I find certain gauges in the Eaglsoft products to be not quite as sharp as I like, especially in the overheads--not great. Cockpit art and gauges are noticably sharper in the PMDG product. I don't care for the perspective view in the VC in the Citation either. I do love the exterior model and sounds in the Citation though. I would buy them again, but just not with as much vigor.Cheers,Noel

Both are great, but i like the sleek looks of the Citation X.

What is it about the VC view that you don't like? I fly airplanes only in a VC and am interested to hear your opinion before I fork out 30 bucks. Are you too high or too low? Can you not see that much around you? What? Thanks!

If you want realism, I would suggest waiting for the Citation II as it does not have an FMC to miss. It's just stick and rudder with the GPS or Radials. But that's me.

Ron,I live just west of Indy, off I-74. I went to school at KIND, and worked at KIND for a year and a half. One of the corporate hangars by the Signature ramp is home to an X that you can spot daily in/out of the hangar on the east side of the airport as you go by the airport on 465. Have you happened to go by KIND on I-70 lately? They've started work on the new mid-field terminal, but have to complete the new tower first. It's 300 feet tall! Gonna be a great airport when it's finished, though, it already is.
