June 14, 200421 yr original FS2004 night scene:http://www.flight1.net/usaroads/FS2004.jpgand in exactly the same location USA-Roads version:http://www.flight1.net/usaroads/LowDim.jpgI picked the low-pressure sodium version because I like it, but there are many other choices - http://www.scenerysolutions.com/NightShots.htmlMichael J. June 14, 200421 yr Great! Can't wait to try some night-time VFR flights. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
June 14, 200421 yr Hello All,I do believe that this new road scenery is going to really be a blast in FS9. Even if all you fly is IFR, the new road package will really be a big hit. Can't wait till it's out!!!Clayton T. DopkeMajor, USAF (retired)"Drac"
June 14, 200421 yr I said just yesterday that my type of flying, high and fast, wouldn't benefit from this addon. I might have been wrong :)
June 14, 200421 yr Anychance Canada will be included in this? You know, the southern city's like Toronto and Montreal?See you in the fence...CYYZ Al Stiff
June 14, 200421 yr No Canada, Alaska or Hawaii.BTW, I think Chris Willis is working on a special night texture set that will complement the USA-Roads.Michael J. Michael J.
June 14, 200421 yr I think the night time shots are more stunning than the daytime. I really cant wait for this one. I think this will just add alot to the immersion of MSFS. Andrew
June 14, 200421 yr How does this product interact with other freeware packages for ground lighting that so many have already installed?
June 14, 200421 yr There is no conflict like crashing, etc.USARoads change roads only so in this respect are completely independent of your other night textures. I tried all 3 existing freeware night textures with USA Roads and personally see no problem except for the fact that they are out-of-sync in some places like for example a road intersects a blob of light (and is it even bad ??), etc. But they are out of sync with generic textures too. First one has to be extremely vigilant to notice it and then very picky to complain. But like I said Chris Willis (consider it speculation for now) may be on a mission to provide a better 'fit'.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
June 15, 200421 yr I was wondering the same things myself. So during the day we will notice more overlapping of ground textures that is probably not fixable, at night Chris is hopefully working on something, but at night it is harder to notice the glitches. I would apprecate some detailed day shots to see the difference, at night it just looks fantastic, but I fly during the day a lot and would like to see what it looks like before I shell out 30 bucks! thanks!
June 15, 200421 yr >I was wondering the same things myself. So during the day we>will notice more overlapping of ground textures that is>probably not fixable, I have no clue what you are saying. Not fixable overlapping ? Current (default) roads are simply slapped onto the terrain - the same happens here. So it is no worse than what you have at the moment. Roads in FS are totally independent of your other scenery unless you want to fly over the photographic megascenery. There are plenty of days shots available on the simforum site.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
June 15, 200421 yr You say "unless you want to fly over the photographic megascenery".Does that mean that USA Roads won't work with the MegaScenery products or am I just all confused?
