August 16, 201213 yr .....just looked at Davids site and noticed the 1-11 sounds... http://www.dmflights...uk/bac_1-11.htm Looks like he got that bit right  ? Interesting to note that they work well in FSX. Geoff Likewise on the Trident... WARNING - THESE AIRCRAFT SOUNDS ARE VERY LOUD Brings back many (usually bad) memories of living at the end of the BAe runway at Hatfield, where they'd often fly in their Trident at 4am, there is no way even the dead could sleep through that. I think his 'VERY LOUD' really should be a few font sizes larger to truly capture the sound of the Trident's Speys.
August 16, 201213 yr One has to laugh at the Americans when they tried to ban Concorde. Not only out of pique (because they couldn't do it) but because of the noise. The VC10 is actually louder than Concorde was on take-off! They had no problem with that!!! Eight aircraft engines will forever be remembered in British history. Four Merlins strapped to a Lancaster and four RR Conways strapped to a VC10. Aaaaaahhh bliss! Who needs rock music!!! August 16, 201213 yr Thers'a an Addictive simulations VC10 with an update for FSX by David Chester which is ok though it needs a few fixes and edits to make it work.

With Dm's a/c plus the avsim updates you get what you don't pay for and it all works in FSX Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
August 17, 201213 yr I had it in Fs9,When I changed to FSX David hadn't completed his updates for it. so I got the addictive, which was for Fs9,then I found the updates for FSX. I don't even have it installed, becauswe I already have more than enough a/c's In my sim. Berlopez
August 17, 201213 yr Maybe Rob and/or Sean at RealAir Simulations will see this thread and take the BIG HINT :P
August 17, 201213 yr Next on my list for DM's model is failed gear and a slow 3 minute deployment in a two engine out scenario! Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
August 17, 201213 yr Maybe Rob and/or Sean at RealAir Simulations will see this thread and take the BIG HINT :P Oddly enough I also lived near the Fulham Palace Road at one time, and also used to go to Heathrow and watch the new breed of British Aircraft from the Queen's building (before the era of heavy security which closed it), including the Trident and of course the VC10, for me one of the most beautiful passenger aircraft ever made. Given that it would take up to two years to make a decent VC10 for FSX, I doubt the investment could ever be recouped. While most sim pilots will take a punt on the most eccentric or dated GA aircraft, I think the current enthusiasm for contemporary jets like Airbus and Boeing is going to continue its dominance of the addon market. The obsession with software/procedural flying (ie FMS, computer based navigation) has now eclipsed all other types perhaps by a factor of 5 to 1. It would be suicidal to spend two years on a product that would probably produce no more than niche or marginal sales - especially in this recession. I wish that wasn't the case but I fear it is. What a coincidence! Sounds like we used to go spotting around the same time. I used to cycle from Fulham to the Queens Building at Heathrow then cycle back via my grandmothers in Twickenham, have tea and arrive home in Fulham (somewhat breathlessly!). I don't think I would want to try that nowadays.. No problem re a RealAir VC-10 Rob, it was purely a pipe dream :) Just continue making the best GA models please! Cheers Adam PS: Looking forward to the RealAir 172. In my profile pic you can see me standing beside our company 172SP which I fly at Kidlington.
August 18, 201213 yr Very interesting and yes a small world! I was always interested in Manston what with the amount of unusual air traffic passing through it. I flew in there a few months after I passed my PPL. My PA28 felt miniscule approaching that massive runway! I used to fly a Rallye into Manston occasionally from Biggin. We used to joke that you could probably land, take off then land the Rallye about five times and still only be halfway down Manston's runway if you had a decent headwind. Once someone tried it and got a telling off from ATC. Did you qualify at Biggin, or somewhere else? Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page
August 18, 201213 yr The Rallye is known as "The tin parachute". you can put it into a full stall and still walk away. I think 600fpm is the maximum descent rate in the stall for that a/c. I once did a landing at biggin on rwy21 landing on the concrete and stopping before the threshold! and once floated in ground effect all the way for about 4,000ft!! August 18, 201213 yr I will not fly anything in FSX that does not have a high resolution, super detailed VC. That being the case, it would be nice to see an FSX native VC10 or Bac 1-11. Both please? lol George T

Is that the one with the "slots" for low speed flight? If Manston charged for "touch and goes" that would have been one expensive landing ;) I vaguely remember AIr Touring at Biggin used to have at least one Rallye plus a TB-10 or TB-20. I got my PPL at Denham. I started training at Biggin but they kept giving me different instructors so I moved to a club at Denham and finished off my PPL training there. After that I went to work at Oxford Kidlington Airport and gained my CPL there a few years ago. Do you still get to fly much? I guess with all the RealAir work it must be difficult to find the time especially with the cr*p weather we're having here right now!
August 18, 201213 yr The problem with doing a full on FSX VC10 is that the VC panel quality is going to have to be much more superior than currently and also there should be a 2D panel as well (twice the work ( There are strong arguments for 2D panels). Also the a/c is going to have to include all the bells and whistles as does the avsim updates. Will it be able to mirror this? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/382963-triple-whamy/ Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
