August 26, 201213 yr That's not the point. Kevin claims to fly airliners and, when asked about details, declines to mention : - for which airline (which is acceptable) - which aircraft type (much harder to explain, but I am sure our Kevin has also a good excuse for that) Bruno He flies the Embraer E145 Regional Jet... It's all in the link, case closed... B) Rónán O Cadhain.

You see Rónán, I don't like to dig into computer data bases to find answers. Usually, I ask directly and, with most people, I get frank and direct answers unless they have a problem. But thanks anyway for helping out with this one. Bruno

Bruno So can we debate a topic using facts, ideas, common sense and good manners now? Now that we are done with your petty inquisition. Yes there was most definitely a problem. The problem with your question is that you asked in a challenging, insulting way as an ad hominem in a technical debate in order to distract from the actual points of argument and focus the topic instead towards the person. Now that we've established that I am indeed a "pilot" of an "airliner", so what? Does that make the points I made about pitch control any more agreeable to you, fencer? I doubt it. It was just a huge distraction and instead reveals more about the pettiness, superficiality, and lack of subject knowledge of the person who started the inquisition.

The problem with your question is that you asked in a challenging, insulting way I think there was (is) another problem but anyway, what did you expect? You post mile-long chapters telling us among other things, that the USAF doesn't know about the business of flying and you expect a rapt audience to applaud? Sometimes, you get what you deserve Kevin. as an ad hominem in a technical debate in order to distract from the actual points of argument and focus the topic instead towards the person. What technical debate? This thread is about Qantas and you jumped in to vent frustration from another post, six months ago. It was just a huge distraction and instead reveals more about the pettiness, superficiality, and lack of subject knowledge of the person who started the inquisition. "Pettiness, superficiality and lack of subject knowledge?" I like your positive outlook on life. As for debating with you, thanks but no thanks. You need to understand (among other things) that a debate means listening to the other party. But anyway, I wish you all the best in your future assignments. Bruno PS : Thanks to Rónán for "moderating" this argument. As we say in France, we can all read "between the lines".

Yes, the USAF teaches one way while the Navy teaches another. Obviously, you are an Air Force booster. Fine. But you cannot dismiss the other side merely because it is not the USAF way. The Navy has flown military aircraft just as long and knows just as much. Just because an organization is supposed to do something does not mean it does it with the best practices. http://forum.avsim.n...vilian-airport/ 2. No, I jumped in here to point out that you are a hypocrite because you attack people in the exact same manner as VH_JLC did. I could have called up any other post where framerates, Flight, copyrights, whatever and etc. could have been debated and you were posting in where you attacked others as well. I just remembered this particular one about pitch control right away. It was more out of mischievous needling over an ironic observation than frustration. Hence the smiley face. 3. Right, communication is about listening as well as speaking. And I am guessing that english is not your first language, because there were a couple of places up in these posts that I sensed you really failed to grasp the main message. Forget about the technical stuff that you probably completely refused to read. For one, you say that I am trying to hijack a thread about Qantas into a thread about pitch vs altitude. Far from it. The reference to the previous was only to point out your behavior in relation to the behavior you were criticising VH_JLC for. I could care less what topic the old post was about, as my only goal was to highlight your behavior. And you were the one who initiated that thread drift by your post #26 here. If I had dredged up some post of yours about copyright or what not, I'm sure at that point you would have thought I was trying to hijack the thread towards copyrighting. But no, the point of my first post in here was merely about your behavior as a direct response to your post #26. Another place where you failed to listen is evident in post #36 when you accused me of calling you a milquetoast in your post script. If you were a listener, you would have noticed that my use of the word milquetoast was with respect to the quote-unquoted phrase which would normally be understood as merely an example for explanations' sake, and that I was not actually saying you claimed anything or were actually a milquetoast. That comment was only to explain how the use of the word "claim" as you have been using it could be construed by a reader who was listening between the lines. So, you see, there is much irony, again, in your commenting on my ability to listen when you yourself seem quite uncapable of doing so.

Obviously, of course ! For your information, I am French and couldn't care less about a USNavy vs USAF debate. Frankly, as I said before, I am not qualified to comment on who is better. I think both organizations are very professional (who would doubt it?) but if you want to lecture us "ad nauseam" on who is better and why, I AM NOT INTERESTED. Now, I have read the rest of your post (rant?) and found nothing new with it. So please excuse me but I have other things to do tonight so I am going to sign off, for good this time ! Bruno
August 26, 201213 yr Fencer and Kevin, I am glad I will never have to share a cockpit with you two (since I am not a pilot). It would make for one looong flight! Kind regards,

August 26, 201213 yr One thing for sure, this picture is sure worth a whole lot more than the last thousand words! Now that personally bites! Yeah, but I have my teeth out and soaking in a glass of water, so it can't hurt you too much! Wait a sec, I am now the one hauling the thread off course...need a sterile enviroment here to refocus debate!
