September 9, 201213 yr In the mce.ini set : DisableNagging=1 this will stop the FO form 'nagging' forever Also try : NoBadLanguage=1 ^_^ Hope this helps I have heard the mention of the word '*******' myself a few times and today the most recent. I would prefer if the MCE guy's could remove such a phrase. Its not right to curse with use of such a word. I have the above settings in place but still exists. I also use TTS voice. Thanks. Kind Regards Simon.
September 9, 201213 yr Author team it happens with both voice types. is it only downunder where we curse with anotomical or other secular terms .. and only in the extreme in the cockpit / workplace ?? your advice on the ini files to disable nagging isn't working ..... help required from a guru !!! for now, cheers john martin
September 13, 201213 yr ...help required from a guru !!! Wow...help may be required...but not from a guru. This topic is beyond absurd The cockpit is not a politically correct "PC" commune; it's called a cockpit for a reason. The developers have tried to capture real life and have succeeded remarkably well. We need more, not less, adult lanquage and situations. We all have a right to freedom of speech and to our own opinions, but nobody has a right NOT to be offended. That's just life. I think FS++ has done more than enough by giving you the ability to switch off nagging. Now, if there was just that same switch for this forum...
September 13, 201213 yr Speaking purely as to the authenticity of pilots using the name in question as "unprofessional"... I've just watched a fascinating documentary about early jet airliners (Jet! When Britain Ruled The Skies. Might still be on BBC iPlayer if you're interested) where they interviewed distinguished British politician Lord Norman Tebbit (who I never knew flew Meteors with the RAF) He was demonstrating the cockpit of the type of airliner he used to fly (Comet I think, though it might have been a Britannia turboprop) and explained that since it used electrical systems to a much greater extent than earlier aircraft, electrical faults were potentially much more serious. The worst case scenario, he said, might require the bird's whole system to be shut down and restarted, and the big lever that did that was known as the "******* Christ switch" because that's what troubled pilots would be saying if they ever needed to reach for it. Bear in mind we're talking about prim and proper 1950s chaps here. Dr V The Couch Aviator's Diary - a newbie's journey into flight simming http://couchaviator.blogspot.co.uk/

September 13, 201213 yr It was aired on BBCFour. Sadly it doesn't appear to be on iPlayer now, but it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for on reruns. Title: "Jet! When Britain Ruled The Skies", 2 episodes, the first focussing on military, the second on civil aviation. Pretty interesting stuff, if you ever wondered what appened to our aviation industry.
