September 9, 201213 yr In the good old PMDG 747-400 there were these small and nice animations like the movable chairs, working sun visors etc. and you could go to the cabin from the VC. I was a bit disappointed that in the NGX there were none of these. huh. (And BTW. off-topic will the new 777/ 747 v.2 have these?)
September 9, 201213 yr These were gotten rid of to make space for more essential animations, gauges and like. --Peter Fabian
September 9, 201213 yr As Peter, said, they left it out. The reason for that is the FSX has a hard-coded limit of animations that you can put in an aircraft, so in order to have room for "more important" animations, they removed those from secondary objects, like seats and windows. Matheus Mafra
September 9, 201213 yr Absolutely understandable why they left it out. I am no expert and I don't want to make false assumptions, but it would be great if there was a way (and if it was enough) to decide what animations you want to have on board. For example, I wouldn't mind having the comm panel on the overhead panel un-animated as I don't use it. (With the small animations, I guess the anim-frames are not enough but still). Or the ability to disable exterior animations of the control surfaces, because I can't see the flaps or most of the surfaces from the flight deck anyway (well, LE Flaps etc. maybe). I hope - if it IS possible - PMDG considers this and gives us the option between opening windows or a some other anims - of course if they have the time and not too much workload. As I said I am not an expert I am just guessing, so please, don't jump on me now I hope PMDG will be successfully implementing the cockpit sharing feature, it would be awesome. I wish ya'll the best and good luck PMDG! Looking forward to your T7! Three greens! Aykut Onur Öztürk
September 9, 201213 yr I don't think it is something like the comm panel as a reason why you can't open the window, it's probably more like the HUD, the lights and probably the yoke and the throttle quadrant (soft) moving too. Ofcourse, now you can say, you don't need the HUD anyway, however it is probably better if PMDG get's forward with their 777 instead of making things which are usless in a flight simulator. Why would you need to move the seat anyways? If you are bored you can trigger hundrets of diffrent failures and work down the checklists from the QRH in stead of moving the seat twice a year. John Rubens
September 9, 201213 yr Also true Jonathan, but here is a good example, if HUD is disabled, take the anim features away, I never use the HUD, especially because I ALWAYS fly on the F/O side. Out of my ~30 liveries only 2 have the HUD (which I know from the real plane). Anyways, of course, I agree that the main priority is the 777, just when there is a bit of time it would be great to have openable windows, just gives some realistic feeling during ground time. I mean, I do take some time for preflight etc, do a walk around whenever I try to do the PNF duties etc. etc. Three greens! Aykut Onur Öztürk
September 9, 201213 yr It is not possible to make unused animation not work selectively so as to allow for some additional prettiness features. You would have to have a complete model compiled for every possible combination (no HUD, but yes visors, yes HUD but no COMM3, yes both buth no mechanical stby gauges, yes all three but no seat moving, etc. ad nauseum). That is simply impossible. --Peter Fabian
September 9, 201213 yr My vote goes to FPS and good looking cockpit rather than cabin, when microsoft releases Passenger Simulator X, you will get the cabin and seat animations  Vladimir Levkov / Владимир Левков Two miles of road can take you two miles. Two miles of runway can take you anywhere in the world
September 10, 201213 yr Author And I'm also confused that in my vc (game's running at 30+ fps) the animations seem to run at 10 fps. Any fix?
