  1. I'm more of a reader than a poster here but I couldn't resist this time: Seriously? Are you just trolling or did you really just take this to a personal issue? You're clearly offending him while I can't see a reason to do so? Well probably because you ran out of 'smart' comments with actual facts to support your accusations against PMDG. I can't confirm any of your accusations simply because they've proven the opposite; whenever I had a problem, they were ready to support and actually cared, just as we would expect from PMDG. I've been following PMDG actively since the release (or let's say couple of months before the release) of the NGX, and I've never seen a negative move which would cause anyone to think this way. You got what you paid for, everything that was promised has been delivered, that's fair, and they did more than they actually promised to deliver to us, so, in my opinion, you don't have the right to demand stuff they didn't promise to give. Words from a pleased customer. Wish you all, (especially you, Joe Smith) a wonderful day / night!
  2. I have made a couple liveries for myself and one of them is actually on AVSIM but the TC-SUZ is too hard for me, I'm not pro enough for that. I was looking for one as well :(
  3. I have to agree with Robert.. He was always polite to me and everyone else as far as I've seen his posts.. I'm shocked and kept track of this thread for such a long time, checked the topic yesterday and seeing these news today almost made me fall off the chair. He helped us all and took off.. My condolences to Andy and Steve's family.. Fair winds...

Runway 70R?! As far as I know, only Captain Chuck Norris can land on such a runway! Joke aside, congratulations and IÄm looking forward to finally flying the T7 as well.. (No time :( )
  5. So happy to hear, Steve! Welcome back! Looking forward to seeing and hearing your future work! I wish you all the best!
  6. I have actually noticed this as well but never wanted to jump into the heated discussions. I'm really glad this is going to be fixed with SP2. By the way, I'm not a pilot but I've been sitting on the cpt and f/o seat of many different 738's to tell you that IN MY OPINION, it's still noticeable when you sit up front instead of taking a photo from the jumpseat or flight deck door angle. I hope I can make a couple photos in 2 weeks when sitting on the NG again, wish me luck! Oh and Josua... Grats buddy, haha!
  7. Were you descending by any chance? If so, I assume your A/T was turned on but switched to ARM mode (after RETARD mode), in which you can manually move the levers (if set so in the FMC's PMDG settings - joystick throttle overriding NG throttle in ARM mode or in all modes). Do you have a single throttle on your joystick or one for each engine? Just my assumption.
  8. Sounds great Steve! Thanks for your efforts! Any idea when we can expect another great sound pack of yours? EDIT: Whoops! Just noticed your previous replies and the info about waiting for the T7 release. My bad!
  9. Actually, if I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong, can't guarantee that this is true), FSL A320's pro version will include it if everything works out. But as I said I'm not quite sure about it, I don't remember where I read that.
  10. I'd also be interested to know if there is any progress regarding this feature.
  11. I love the deep bass at ~ 50 % N1. I remember on a recent flight in a 738 during descend it was the EXACT same sound and that just got me there. If I could just open the windows now :( (I remember the F/O taking a pic of myself when I was sitting on his seat, my right hand out of the window, 30-35° C outside, damn that was a nice day!)

If you're patient enough til I get to sit on a 737 again I'll take some measures for ya. The displays seem to be quite realistic. And let me tell you one thing; Images and Videos give a totally different impression of the dimensions.
  13. Totally agreed. It drives me nuts when I see a 747 outside, the flight deck is from an A300, then in another scene the aircrafts model changed all of a sudden from 4 engines to 2 engines, you see a 737... #####. I mean, in a movie where aviation is a big part of the story, they could've at least put a LITTLE more effort into replicating the flight deck of the aircraft they want to present. Not to mention the physics and the rate the aircraft pitched down, looked like a fighter jet maneuver..
  14. Thought I'd throw in my recent experience on a 738. So we were flying to Stuttgart (my local airport), CRZ at FL380 and T/D 10-15 NM ahead. While I was talking to the CPT (PF on that flight) he changed the altitude on the MCP to FL280 (so cleared to descend by 10.000ft, when ready..). We flew on FL380, with FL280 selected for a few minutes, when the captain used V/S mode, first -700ft, then -2400 - which I didn't quite understand because on the NGX when you start an early descend and select VNAV after a while, being let's say 2000ft below planned descend path, it will decrease the rate to -1000ft and keep it at that until the aircraft catches the desc. path. Anyway in our case the captain used -700ft V/S mode, after a few seconds -2400ft and right after that he selected VNAV mode. I can't clearly remember if the aircraft kept -2400 or -1000, so I can't really give you an information on that. That's basically how we started our desc. Got a few cockpit shots, I enjoy looking at those pictures remembering how I sat in there, even on the F/O seat, gaining motivation with my studies to finally be in the flight deck in uniform I hope that helps.
  15. I actually noticed that in the real 737-800 on my last jumpseat flight, during CRZ you can barely hear the buzz sound, you CAN hear the engines but not that constant buzz. Also, one difference is that during CRZ you have a deeper bass in the flight deck (wind and engines) than on FSX. (Or it's just my cheap sound setup which has not the bass of the real engines ). All in all, PMDG has done a very good job with the sounds, they sound really accurate. Very very slight differences to what you hear on the real 737 though, but seriously, I don't think you can get any closer than this. I am very satisfied (and I am a REALISM JUNKIE so that has to mean something ). Can't thank PMDG enough for making this great add on.

Turkish Airlines has a great fleet. Unfortunately, they don't use the 777-200, they use the 777-300ER so I'll have to wait for PMDG to create that before I can fly with my all-favourite carrier :(
  17. Dude, not cool, you just made me very curious now Seriously tho, do you still have the quote or something or are you 100% sure they did have a breakthrough? If yes, I can't wait to find out what it is. *prays* "Please, let it be the cockpit sharing"
  18. Also true Jonathan, but here is a good example, if HUD is disabled, take the anim features away, I never use the HUD, especially because I ALWAYS fly on the F/O side. Out of my ~30 liveries only 2 have the HUD (which I know from the real plane). Anyways, of course, I agree that the main priority is the 777, just when there is a bit of time it would be great to have openable windows, just gives some realistic feeling during ground time. I mean, I do take some time for preflight etc, do a walk around whenever I try to do the PNF duties etc. etc.
  19. Absolutely understandable why they left it out. I am no expert and I don't want to make false assumptions, but it would be great if there was a way (and if it was enough) to decide what animations you want to have on board. For example, I wouldn't mind having the comm panel on the overhead panel un-animated as I don't use it. (With the small animations, I guess the anim-frames are not enough but still). Or the ability to disable exterior animations of the control surfaces, because I can't see the flaps or most of the surfaces from the flight deck anyway (well, LE Flaps etc. maybe). I hope - if it IS possible - PMDG considers this and gives us the option between opening windows or a some other anims - of course if they have the time and not too much workload. As I said I am not an expert I am just guessing, so please, don't jump on me now I hope PMDG will be successfully implementing the cockpit sharing feature, it would be awesome. I wish ya'll the best and good luck PMDG! Looking forward to your T7!
  20. Some of the 737s I was in had this. But on my last flight we had a little screen on the pedestal with a rotary knob to select which camera should the screen display. Pretty cool feature, one of the cams was on top right infront of the flight deck door looking down, I can clearly remember seeing myself as I stepped into the flight deck
  21. Peter / Fabo ? is right, you do want to realign and you won't really save time by not doing it anyway. Do it the way my previous poster Fabo described it, that's how the pilots do it as well, noticed every time I flew in the flight deck. They also do full re-alignment, no fast alignment. (Info may differ from other company SOPs).
  22. They want to sell their product by making it as cost saving as only possible, therefore it wouldn't make sense to change the flight deck (I am not talking about small changes here and there), because airlines would have to spend a lot of money for new type ratings if the flight deck was way different than what it is like now.. That's why I think the flight deck will remain the way it is with a few changes eventually.
  23. On my recent jumpseat on the 738 the CPT was PF and the F/O was PNF, the we were at FL380 and were cleared to FL280, around 10 miles prior to T/D the CPT used V/S -750, then after a few seconds ~ -2400 at the V/S, and after a few seconds he hit VNAV, the speed target when he hit V/S was .77 mach, which was our CRZ SPD, then the aircraft went back to -1000 ft as we were below the descent path, once we captured the path it started to descent faster, no spoilers were needed til we were close to 10.000 ft which was the time where we slew the aircraft down to the restricted speed, that was the point we used the spoilers. That's the way I do it, different real life techniques helped me a lot, made me a better sim pilot and hopefully a real airline pilot soon. That's only a pointer I can give you here, not usre if it will help you in the future.
  24. Colin, as the previous posters stated, your spoilters need not to be armed. You arm the spoilers in the Airbus before take off, but not in the 737 ;)
  25. The flows do match due to the fact that most of those are SOP's come from Boeing, so it's more like a general operating procedure for all 737 NG pilots, the company side procedures are just a few small differences. Power settings: Nothing else than what you see on the PMDG depending on the circumstances. Airspeeds: When I came back to the flight deck during flight I noticed .77 mach on SPD INTV. VNAV and LNAV was on. We were at FL380. At the time I took one of the snapshots (using it as a reference now) we were on 88.0 thrust on both engines (had a few differences every now and then from engine #1 to engine #2 of roughly 1 % N1). What I also noticed when we used V/S mode to initiate the descent before arriving at T/D, the yoke didn't move but the trim did all the work, unlike in the NGX, but it's just a small detail and probably beacuse of the low V/S. What else is there to say.. hmm.. The runway course was already entered about 30 minutes before T/D. We used flaps 1 for T/O, just like the last flight 2 weeks ago. Oh, and I have to say, during the first 2 minutes of descent when I went outside the flight deck, getting myself some water and talking to the cabin crew, the aircraft stabilized at a certain altitude and believe me, it felt like 3 G's pushing you up while standing right infront of the flight deck door :P You feel the movement so much in the front, especially while standing.. if there are any other questions, feel free to ask, I'll try to answer them as best as I can. Edit: May I add, the weather radar is an awesome feature in the real 737 :P Saw like all the front parts on the ND covered in red.. Wasn't too happy about that.. This 737 also had nice sun shades on the side windows. Oh and at the end of the first flight when I was sitting on the F/O seat taking photos, I was talking to the captain and heard the standby altitude indicators needle vibrator, so I asked him: "Isn't the vibrator annoying?", we had a good laugh, well, the crew had.. I then corrected myself: "I mean the vibrator preventing the needle to get stuck in the standby altitude indicator!". I'll never forget that, and I think they won't as well, especially my mate, who was the F/O.. :)
