September 11, 201213 yr An email came, I clicked the link... proceeded to checkout, downloaded. Clicked the installer, started the sim. You have to have a lot of confidence in a product to do this sight unseen. I have a lot of confidence in Carenado... I was not disappointed. Lovely to see what can be done in FS2004.
September 11, 201213 yr I'm waiting for my copy of x-plane 10 to come in so for the moment no more FS2004 spending. I suspect I will go back to it pretty soon though. ^_^ What scenery is that in your shot? It looks very nice. JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
September 11, 201213 yr Author X-Plane may very well turn out to be the flightsim of choice in the future... but for now I am ever more devoted to FS9.5, amazing stuff available for it. September 13, 201213 yr Yup, same here. Bought it as soon as I received their newsletter. I hope they release the rest of their FSX fleet in FS9. -fz
September 13, 201213 yr Just a question.. Have they fixed the Collins radio labeling? In FSX, the NAV radio is labeled COM. Bert
September 13, 201213 yr This airplane is a must have. I promised myself that I wouldn't buy anymore slow-movers, but this one is special. The sound package alone is worth $24.95. Carenado continues to raise the bar for other developers. You can't go wrong with this one.
September 13, 201213 yr Author Agree totally on the soundtrack, just brilliant. Just a question.. Have they fixed the Collins radio labeling? In FSX, the NAV radio is labeled COM. Nope, easily patched though. ^_^I'm wondering if COM1/2 and NAV1/2 are switchable somewhere... may have to read the manual!
September 15, 201213 yr Does anybody know how the NAV/COM unit can be used in the VC? Some knobs react to unusual movements with the mouse button pressed, some (or most of them) not at all. Practically, I am unable to change the values on the transponder and COM section. Another issue is the following: If I turn off all electrical switches and the master switch, the instruments are still working (e.g. alarm signal when pulling mixture controls to the full back position, etc.).
September 16, 201213 yr Author I am seeing some signs of that old Carenado problem: kangaroo hopping when taxiing, seems to be at low speed after brake release. Anyone else have this issue?
September 16, 201213 yr Try using the mouse wheel on the knobs to turn them. I did, but, for example, only the first and the last number can be changed. And it's impossible (to me, anyway) to select a certin frequency for COM/NAV - the figures change incidentally only. Compared with all other Carenado aircraft, this one is really hard to use if not impossible.
September 16, 201213 yr I haven't had the problem WingZ. It has been a little sensitive on takeoff steering, but not every time.
September 16, 201213 yr Looks like once again a contact point adjustment needs to be made. As Emma Field this thing will flip over with the slightest bump. Although not as bad as the Bonanza it's still a problem. September 16, 201213 yr Another issue is the following: If I turn off all electrical switches and the master switch, the instruments are still working (e.g. alarm signal when pulling mixture controls to the full back position, etc.). Yup, noticed this as well. Everything (radio, lights, flaps, etc.) works without turning the battery/avionics on. Definitely a bug.
September 16, 201213 yr Author OK this all sounds easily patched, hope they're reading here... I tried my FSD model again, and I must say it handles beautifully in comparison.
