What should I get? QW Bae/Avro or iFly 737

Ifly Maddog and Airsimmer. My big three

True, true, same for me. They would make my Big Four with Digital Aviation Fokker if the guys delivered the virtual cockpit...

Coming back to the original question the OP asked.

Please let us know what your choice is and then if you are happy with it.

Hi,

I have both and iFly 737 is so much better, really a no brainer.

To be honest I find the QW Avro a let down (English?) having a lot of issues with automated flight.

Location: Vleuten, The Netherlands, 17.3dme SPL 108.40 | Simulator: FS2024
System: AMD 7800X3D - Gigabyte X670 - RTX 4090 - 64GB DDR5 - 2 x 2TB SSD - 32" 1440p Display - Windows 11 Pro

If you want a troublefree, proven and reliable addon go for the Level-D 767. Its only drawback, if ever, its design is rather old.

When I am fed up with the shortcomings of the iFly or the rusticity of the LeonardoSH maddog, I come back to it!

I ended up getting the iFly a few days ago, and I'm extremely happy with it.

I might get the Level D plus the Zinertek VC enhancement a few months down the road.

The more I think about, I'll probably just completely forego the Avro. Yes it looks very good, but there's no FS2Crew for it, plus as someone else mentioned, it lacks the abundance of real-world routes compared with the other birds available.

ut there's no FS2Crew for it,

Hi. That is true and from what I hear Bryan will take a while, if ever, to support the Avro.

An alternative does exist however, the voice controlled Multi Crew Experience (MCE.) They are in the process of supporting the Avro ... limited at first since other aircraft are ahead in the queue. They have a forum here on Avsim, look under Commercial Support Forums. MCE supports the Level D and the iFly, amongst others, so you do not have to buy additional programs as in the case with FS2Crew.

Check it out.

And I thought I'm the only one who cares about it so much. captain.gif

don't have the fs2crew ifly edition (s) but when I completed my first flight with the Maddog MD82 by also applying and completing all the tests and checklist from its manual, I don't want any fs2crew for the MD.. I dunno why they named it 80/82/83, maybe because they were well known in 80's? The only "left seater" when flying the md is Debbie Gibson's WAV in the background.. B)

Okay lets get back to topic, sorry :P

If i had FS9, i would have no problems deciding for iFly. It's the last airliner for FS9, just get it.

Looks like you know something we don't know?

Come on, it's FS9, single CPU, dated... Are you really expecting anything new? I wouldn't.

EDIT: Oh wait, QW is on the 787 which apparently will make its way to FS9.

You have come so far to this forum just wanna say those...there's an FSX forum not too far from here.. ah nevermind, I'm sure you got bullied a lot

kidding.. ^_^

Funnily enough just yesterday Steve Masson, of Flight1, talking about the forthcoming update to the iFly Feature Pack said , and I quote :-

"and I wanted to take this opportunity to let our FS9 owners know that when the team start on their next project it will include an FS9 version you will not be forgotten."

Maybe the third last ...

Sorry, i didn't mean to come in here bash on FS9. People will use whatever they want.

I guess i've been away from FS9 for too long, all i really wanted to say is that iFly made a superb 737 simulation for FS9 and that one shouldn't be missed. If it's better or worse, it's not my problem, really.

Skip the Zinertek VC enhancement. Go for the free VC upgrade available in the Level-D forum. Much better and ... free.
