I've got ENB and use it in both FS9 and FSX on the same system. I prefer the color palette of FS9 way over FSX, so it's doubtful that it's a monitor (or in my case, projector) issue.

It is not an issue per se. A monitor profile will make any color look the way you want it to. Within the same profile FS2004 and FSX will look different, but a dedicated profile for FSX can make the palette look FS2004'ish, if that is what you desire. I have a dedicated profile for FSX on my LCD TV to make the colors look more natural and less cartoonish. Works like a charm.

The part that turns me off from FSX, is the "more" disease.

Constantly wanting more addons, and not being satisfied with the addons and airplanes available, and what we have now. It's just something us as humans cannot help. We always want more! -.-

You need to use a different palette file for FSX compared to FS9

Ahh...

I see. Thanks for the food for thought. Very helpful.

"SHADE" is very nice for color & shade changes. So easy to use, even Spock can use it. You have two options; backup and replace, thereby you can use FSX without it running in the background (there are allot of presets too, if you dont want to play with the color pallets), or have shade in the BG and it'll remove the pallets when you exit FSX.

absolutely one of the top 10 addons thats simple, and zero impact on FSX.

None of those categories really bother me.

What DOES bother me is the atrocious weather engine!

I fly almost exclusively online and very often in close formation

with several other aircraft...mostly A2A B-17's, P-51's, etc.

Even if everyone has set their weather theme to 'fair weather' so

that the actual weather is obtained from the server, there is often the

case where 1 or more folks in the session have completely different

weather. When one group has winds of 270 deg at 25 knots and

1 or nmore have winds from various directions from 0 to 30 knots, there

is little hope for maintaining a reasonably close formation.

External weather engines are out of the question (REX, ASI) since not

all pilots have or can afford those add-ons. So, for online flights we

are at the mercy of FSX's fickle/flawed weather engine! :(

From your options, I'd say scenery blurries, whcih annoy me especially when flying fighters at low altitudes, sometimes also in areas where the amount of textures is very large.

But I have to agree with some people who have posted before me. What really annoys me, are ATC and the way FSX depicts weather.

I'd rather have more realistic ATC control, if possible capable of SID/STAR procedures, or at least better vectoring, especially vectors to final (i.e. no zig-zag approaches), and avice to avoid terrain or other traffic.

Regarding the weather: I'd mainly like to have some better precipitation textures, because IMO snow and raindrops are unrealistically large, there's no hail simulated and so on. Also I'd like a more realyistic way the wether changes. I mean it's a bit strange to be in sunshine the one moment, and the other moment you're in zero visibility with extremely heavy rain, I'd rather have some smoother transition between those two extremes.

A big turn-off are the night ground textures and water. In reality, as we all know, water is black and so is the ground unless there is a light point .

This would be nice. Hail.. man oh man... talk about a nightmare.

What really annoys me Is getting ES scenerys coexist with France VFR, have spent 2 days on this problem and still struggling. ####### me off.

It's the way FSX handles the autogen and there seems to be a problem having to types of custom autogen working together

If anyone got these scenerys to work together please send me the merged autogen files please....
