November 14, 201213 yr What in the world.... I don't know. Was not targeted against Ben Cap, of course. I'm only really upset of the decay of quality and customer care. NVIDIA is blaming Microsoft, Microsoft is blaming NVIDIA but developing together to find a solution.... naah, the customer already paid so he can use google and try to find out by himself why it's not working as it should be. I'm having troubles to get a real stable system for FSX since the upgrade to GTX470 and AMD Phenom 3 years ago. Managed to reduce gfx driver stopping or crashing to a minimum but unable to remove the problem completely. Ben, if you found my post offending you personally, I apologize. Regards Hirschi
November 14, 201213 yr I am confused now..... Going to go back to apples...good day all. William Sequeira

Regards Hirschi Hirschi, it's not the driver, granted that they should be better Nvidia's Drivers are not built with FSX in mind BUT for recent games, it may improve FSX to a certain degree though. There is to many variables to consider (32-bit/64-bit platform, GHz, SP2, + + +) on a unstable rig or game to blame the driver only for all problems, yes drivers can be a pain sometime, fixing something and breaking something else.
November 14, 201213 yr Thanks Alain, I calmed down again. It's just frustrating sometimes and maybe I released my frustration into the wrong forum. I never intended to offend somebody especially here at avsim where the standards of polite conversation still apply. Thats not to be taken granted in the internet nowadays. Regards Hirschi
November 14, 201213 yr I used to be a great fan of AMD but this was my last one I bought. If I let the BIOS and its highly sophisticated fan control do the work, it will resume in a shutdown due to CPU overtemp. I have to use SpeedFan for CPU cooling and MSI afterburner for GPU cooling and "derating". If the PMDG T7 comes out I don't need any engine sounds of it because I'm sitting right next to an engine the whole day Regards Hirschi
November 14, 201213 yr How do you guys keep managing updating your drivers so frequently. I have an old beta that worked for me. If I update the driver, I am worried that all the tweeks that I have done using the inspector thingi. ( Word Not Allowed's Nvidia Inspector configuration, slightly modified) ..would all dissappear and I would have to redo all that stuff.. Manny Is there a way I can copy the settings files..(whatever its called and whereever it is) and then install the driver and then put that file back to get my old settings? November 14, 201213 yr Manny, It's not hard to reset Nvidia Inspector. If you want any help after changing your drivers, let me know and I will meet you on AVSIM Team Speak and will walk you through it. Kind regards,

You can export your inspector profile ( *.nip file). Theres even an option to create a desktop shortcut to load a standalone profile. Regards Hirschi
November 14, 201213 yr Ah..Thanks Stephen and Hirschi. I went to Inspector and exported the .nip file.. I have backed it up. Hope I can import this back as user defined profile after my driver upgrade MAnny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 14, 201213 yr I removed the old driver... rebooted and installed the beta driver 310 I started the inspector which prompted me to update for the latest inspector which I did I imported my Inspector settings. I compared with screenshots I had saved prior to exporting just to make sure I had a hard copy of my old settings and they compared identical. I started FSX and I noticed right away that I had jaggies. The AA is not working. Hmmmmmm.... Rebooted once more to make sure..and my AA is still busted. Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 14, 201213 yr I don't know if it affects each other but have a look into nvidia system settings, maybe AA is turned off there and overwrites the inspector settings. Regards Hirschi
November 14, 201213 yr I had other problems as well.. My FSX start up screen seemed corrupted. Now, I am going to uninstall this beta and install the latest official release 306? I originally had 304 beta which I was happy with. I have it saved in Restore point Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 14, 201213 yr I am unable to restore to my original. So now I have the non beta, but official latest.. which is 306.97 version But the AA is still not working. So I manully set it to 16x within nvidia controller... but still the AA doesn't look good... broken strings... When I change anything in inspector, I can see the change via nvidia controller. But for some reason I still get jagged lines Hmmm... Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 14, 201213 yr I've never been able to cure shimmers and all Jaggies no matter what I set with my 670. Maybe we're cursed. Randy Swofford
