November 14, 201213 yr No problems at all. Nvidia Inspector needed to be reset, did so, and all is perfect.
November 14, 201213 yr I've set 16x CSAA in Nvidia System Settings but I find it's overall not a good AA in FSX. Especially the ultra-light in "vc". The strings an cables look really awfull and look like broken when you pan around. But i thought, its normal for fsx' old gfx engine until now. Manny and Randy, are you saying theres much better AA possible? Regards Hirschi

November 14, 201213 yr Oh boy.. I went back to my old driver (304 beta) this one was perfect. But now, after I reinstalled it. Same issue. The Inspector is not updating the settings. Not just AA, my VSync and everything.. none of them are working. So its not the driver..its the inspector that is unable to change the settings I suspect. When I am in inspector, I can see the settings. When I am in Nvidia control panel for FSX...its all default I tried running inspector as Admin and kept apply changes and even tried rebooting ,...... nope. The settings have no effect... When I run fsx, its like I have not done any settings. Its my fault..I had no reason to update the driver and now I have created problems for myself. Sigh! Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

November 14, 201213 yr Commercial Member Here's my personal procedure for updating drivers cleanly: 1. Uninstall all Nvidia items from Control Panel\Programs and Features, leaving the driver entry itself for last. (I only install the driver, PhysX and the updated, so it's just those three) 2. Run Driver Fusion (http://www.treexy.com - formerly called Driver Sweeper) in safe mode (press F8 repeatedly right as your BIOS finishes running its POST) and run the Nvidia Display and Nvidia PhysX profiles. 3. Reboot in normal mode and run the new driver's installer. 4. Choose Advanced/Custom and turn off the options for the 3D Vision driver and the HDMI passthrough driver unless you actually use those features. 5. Reboot if asked. 6. Reconfigure your FSX profile in Nvidia Inspector. This ensures everything is 100% cleaned out and the new one is installed in a pristine state. Manny and Randy, are you saying theres much better AA possible? Regards Hirschi Yes. I never had AA Issues. I did restrict it to 8xS because I use 3 24" monitors in Surround [Combined 1x2 SS + 4x MS] since AA takes up FPS... So I was quite happy with this... I could have done 16S or even 32S Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 14, 201213 yr Ok, thanks Manny. I'm using the Nvidia Sys settings momentary and Afterburner for the missing FS Limiter but Inspector offers more options. If I configure Inspector, what should I setup in the Nvidia System Settings to avoid overriding the Inspector settings? Regards Hirschi
November 15, 201213 yr Don't use the Nvidia system settings. Or use it only for setting multi monitor etc. For all other settings as per Word Not Allowed's guide.. use the Inspector. Provided the Inspector works.. LOL Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 15, 201213 yr Manny, I see from your screenshot that you forgot to change the Antialiasing Mode from "Application controlled" to "Override any application setting". Do that and things should be fine again.
November 15, 201213 yr Manny, I see from your screenshot that you forgot to change the Antialiasing Mode from "Application controlled" to "Override any application setting". Do that and things should be fine again. See that's the thing. I am making changes to the settings via the Inspector (the screen on the right). And its not updating the settings. It remains at "Application controlled" in nvidia control panel Is that not the procedure? for me to make these changes via the Inspector? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 15, 201213 yr I don't use "Application controlled" but "None" works well. Kind regards, Stephen, Where do you set "Application controlled" vs none? Using the Inspector or the nVidia control panel? aren;t we supposed to do all the settings via the Inspector? Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
