You have a point with providing support, it's not cheap, and the more you sell, the more complains and angry costumers you have to put on with. What is amazing is that most bad Addons costs A LOT of money, maybe they use the same thinking you're saying, an expensive addon has to bring more to the table than a cheap one, it's all in the costumer's head.

 

From what I have been reading since the 737NGX got on development, it's been non stop work, easily over 12 hour a day, but I might be wrong.

 

What I'm realizing is that, I don't know if because of this topic, or maybe we're all in Sync here in Avsim, people are all asking more than ever for a Sale on the MD11. This is definitely the Airliner everyone dreamed of but ended up not getting it at launch for multiple reasons.

They aren't going to do it. They just don't. Just buy it it's fantastic, you're supporting a great company and above all else it's worth it.

Well realisticaly, even if they dropped the price for a day, i doubt they would see a huge spike in sales, without a dedicated advertising campaign (how does one advertise a high end flight sim add on to people who havnt heard of it?) which in effect would probably nullify any gains on such a niche product.

 

BUT it is truly worth every penny anyhow. great plane

I support PMDG, 737NGX was my first because only by the time it released I had an International Credit Card of my own, now I'll probably buy all their releases. Right now I'm saving money for the Airbus that I've been dreaming of since two other developers failed to give to us, and I want to see how the Dash-8 Turns out, the external Flight Modeling is highly appealing to me.

lets say they drop it 20 bucks sometime in the distant future, so you wait n wait n waite zzzzz...

 

how much are you really saving? plucking a figure out of thin air, lets say the pmdg has a 3 year life cycle before you move on.

 

Approx figures

save $20 over 3 years = 2c a day approx extra if you buy at full price

 

if you cant afford 2c a day then you gonna fail in flight sim world ;-(

I purchased a LOT of games at Steam I had no intention of buying when it was full price, but the human mind can't resist a good Sale =p Ask the guys from FSDreamTeam how many % they sold more than usual during this last 40% Sale, must have been a LOT more, because you don't have to choose between buying the MD11 or not buying it, you have to choose between buying the MD11, or Buying the new A2A Sim Bird, or Buying the new Weather Utility, etc.

 

Anyway, the point of the topic is gone since Black Friday is past, PMDG will probably never do anything like we suggested here, so let's move on. It was good having this talk with all of you here, we all learned a lot about the FS Market.

That's a wonderful photo, although to really get my feelings, you'd have to show me a picture of the MD11 wearing the Varig Colors, for me the most beautiful aircraft ever!!

Saw a Fedex cargo MD-11F flying into KMSP last night driving on Hwy 62 which goes right past the airport. Was a real sight. Can't wait for my package from PC Aviator to get her so I can fly her myself!
