November 28, 201213 yr Author Well, I have both the RealAIr Duke and this Civilian P-51, and both are very friendly on FPS! My FSX Gold instal uses Word Not Allowed's tweaking guide (software part only) and I do not even have FSUIPC installed, no add-on sceneries, just my RealAirs, this great A2A (I had a few more A2A add-ons from past, but they were from the pre-accusim era, so, I'd rather invest on accusim products only...), the Flight1 PC-12, and AS2012 - that's all and more than enough for me. I gave up on my preferred airliner - LevelD767, because I don't want to get back to those long haul flights... I might get the realAir Lancair Legacy one day.... November 29, 201213 yr I'm happy to see A2A giving a nod to modern fliers of vintage aircraft. :good: My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
November 29, 201213 yr Think I will buy this tonight as I know it will be very FPS friendly and I like the idea of a civ version. There spit was/is stunning. David Murden. November 29, 201213 yr Hi, Anyone know of any videos for the civilian version? I can find those of the military version only. Regards Bob Officially retired
November 29, 201213 yr From what I read, the DCS P-51 Mustang is a beast to land and walk away after, is the A2A Also like this? Alexis Mefano
November 29, 201213 yr Author I have both... they kind of complement each other, the only great difference being the Worlds they are immersed in, and their purpose/capabilities... Flight dynamics wise I still think the DCS version is more sophisticated and detailled in some aspects, particularly in the roll-yaw coupling and in modelling some characteristic pitch behaviour (in terms of stability and coeficients of moment under various circumstances) and of course in the post-stall area to, yet, the A2A version is a sim inside the sim. A2A reproduced aspects unique to their products, that I can't find in any other FSX add-on. Being a cvil version it is also very interestingly equipped, and for me there is no point in having a military version in FSX if you can't use the weapons.... The A2A inflight menus are also simply great, easy to use and pretty much facilitate the use of the most sophisticated details of the simulated aircraft. I regret not having that type of GUI in DCS World... Of course both modules are required - the aircraft and the Accu-sim module that serves both the Civil and the Military versions. I'll end saying that in FSX Gold I now have only the A2A P-51 installed, and look fwd for their first GA :-) I may buy the Clipper to - been told it's a masterpiece... A brief list of things modelled in this aircraft that I can't find in any FSX add-on I ever tested: 1) "negative" torque induced roll moment when power is reduced, caused by the airstream driving the prop and also by its consequences (friction drag) on the engine machanical components; 2) reversibility effects due to too aft a CG position when the fuselage tank is filled above a certain quantity, but also the effects of the bobwheights used in the elevator control system to minimize those effects; 3) Mach/Compressibility effects 4) Damage to the engine and other systems due to improper operation 5) extremely precise stall as a function of load factor, comming into play under most circumstances where other FSX aircraft are completely out of sync with reality... ... November 29, 201213 yr Got it and what can you say......... It's a master piece, no other aircraft, no RealAir...none do an engine start like A2A Accu-sim does, I took 5 Min's to start it, flooded it and did just what you would do IRL, it's just remarkable to have what can only be called a "living" engine inside the sim. I would go as far as saying no engine starts are the same. As for the rest of the Civ? just amazing. It's not easy and why should it be? it can be hard to start it's hard to keep in a straight line on take off you have to have your wits about you when landing, it's alive and you have to show your skills to handle it. Not for beginners that's for sure. The best GA I have is the RealAir Lanicar and there Turbine Duke, they are so tame and soooooo very easy compared to this lol. There 172 is going to be ground breaking. Love it.   David Murden. November 29, 201213 yr Oh c'mon Jcomm, you're going to make me buy it saying things like these. Oh man... Why is dollar so high right now, why... Alexis Mefano
November 29, 201213 yr Author Well, all I can say is that it is really worth the buy, and above all, worth the use! There are a few glitches, the main one being the canopy getting fogged to easy, imho.... Oh c'mon Jcomm, you're going to make me buy it saying things like these. Oh man...
