There's a theory that this may be a conflict with the Scenery Tech landclass.

 

One user on the Orbx forums disabled Scenery Tech in the FSX scenery library and the texture issues were resolved.

 

Haven't tried this myself yet, but will do next time I fire up FSX.

 

I dont have Scenery Tech landclass so im very unsure

 

I have SceneryTech lanclass (Africa & Asia) and disabling it in the library does not seem to clear the issue - not the blue/cyan buildings anyway

 

Can you post a savefile with a default 172 where this happens? I'll gladly load it with enabled FTX EU.

There are screenshots on the quoted FTX thread that contain co-ordinates if you wanted to try yourself - the obvious flight would be out of Kigali, Rwanda (HRYR) to see the cyan/blue buildings.

I can confirm that I had SceneryTech's Europe Landclass product enabled with FTX England, and had some problems (none as drastic as some of the above pics!) once I flew out of the UK.

 

But after uninstalling SceneryTech Europe Landclass, all problems went away.

 

I also have UTX Europe installed and have no problems whatsoever with that. FTX Eng is above it in the Scenery library, so I get FTX while in England, and UTX in the rest of Europe.

 

No problems whatsoever leaving FTX ENG activated and flying to other places - I flew England to Algiers yesterday with FTX England (Europe) activated, and had no issues at all, and Africa looked fab! (albeit the green parts looked a bit English! :lol:).

You cannot fly outside of UK with the scenery enabled. It's ridiculous

I have just looked though the link on Orbx forum, loaded all the areas people posted about and I don't have any problems at all.

 

Some people have there library's not set right or at best an add-on conflict but set right and I see no problems at all. A new config file is the best place to start if you have problems.

 

So to make a statment like that is in your words ridiculous.

Yes I agree. It definitely seems like some people have conflicting addons and/or Scenery Librarys that are a bit screwed up.

 

If FSX is fed wrong info on what to display, in what order of priority you will get these things.

 

The first flight I did with FTX ENG (after deleting the conflicting SceneryTech LC), was EGNT over to ENBR in Norway and had no issues doing this flight, without having the de-activate FTX after leaving the UK.

I've had the same problem with P3d and FTX eu active. Flying around Innsbruck (P3D default) the mountains are covered with texture issues. Currupt tiles, water on the mountains even a few distant 'top down' tiles get coughed up. Turn FTX though and it's back to normal. It's all very strange.

My friend has a secondary PC where he tests all his stuff (i got the idea from him and works great to keep your main FSX clean) and he installed ONLY FTX-EU England and he gets these issues. Try to broaden your flights and experience with FSX, then come back to me before posting stuff like you did.

 

England by OrbX is a mess and i'm sorry (or not!) that you can't see it.

I have left my friends now but he has chosen to reset his system and to disable this product until he wants to fly VFR. I quite liked England with ORBX on however I wont be buying until he notifys me these bugs are fixed.

I just posted a SS showing I have no problem with one of your areas!

 

Please don't be silly you have no idea how much flying I do or don't do, just wild assumptions. I hope you find whats up put to imply anyone flying outside the UK will get what your getting is a wide assumption.

 

If after trying the areas out you pointed out, if I had seen what you have I would post like wise finding. But I see nothing so wither you like it or not the problem is your end as I have every area of Orbx AUS/PNW and EURO, All there regions.

I'm not sorry because everything is perfect my end and anywhere in Euro I look/go seems fine, Word Not Allowed is the same.

 

 

So find your problem out or your conflict but stop assuming everyone is having or will have your problems because it's wrong.

The 'solution' is to save the flight, exit FSX, disable the UK scenery and load the flight once again. Now imagine doing this online with ATC... Doesn't work for me.

 

Seriously? We cannot have GEX/UTX Europe enable just underneath the ORBX stuff? It worked with the PNW and UTX GEX, I just enable ORBX after I enable that stuff. Thats too bad because Im a tuberliner type of guy and I like to fly out of the UK into Europe but if it ruins the rest of Europe then I'm not going to buy it.

Orbx tell you to switch to switch to default when flying out of orbx England in their PDF file, and for good reason becasue it completely scews up the scenery if i do not do this. i have GEX europe installed.

 

I suppose this problem is much the same as everything else in flight sim land where some folk never have problems that a lot of others do. I suspect the much the complained about orbx censorship on their forums is to keep the problem hidden as much as possible.

 

What a shame, because this addon is top quality, but the anger amongst customers about how they get treated and the shocking effect it has on fsx outside England is a real spoiler, especially for vatsim/ivao.

Any chance that you could post the same/similar screenshot from Kigali as before but with the co-ords on the screen.......that looks WAAAY different to my default Africa anyway (in respect of default textures/trees) regardless of this issue!!

Yes, i'm serious. Madeira (Europe), Algiers, Dubai, South Africa... And there should be more, i just didn't find it as this was at a friend's house and we didn't have much time.

We didn't grab a picture of Madeira island, but it "features" flying houses...

 

Here's what I see at Algiers intl. airport with FTX Europe enabled:

 

Not perfect by any means but certainly not like your experience. There must be something more at play than FTX Europe here when you see how different the screenshots are.
