According to the IAC (Russia’s Interstate Aviation Committee), two out of three landing gears did not receive the correct signal for strut compression, causing the aircraft to overshoot the runway. The right landing gear did not receive the correct signal after touching the runway, causing the thrust reversers to fail.

It is relieving to hear that the accident was not completely due to pilot error. These types of failures must be quite frightening to experience.

Yea thought that the pilots would have reacted and used manual reversers once they realised it didnt deploy automatically, unless this aircraft doesnt have reverse levers on the throttle quadrant

Quite scary, but what exactly did the aircraft hit below the highway that would send large chunks and possibly that nosewheel onto the highway above?
