January 9, 201313 yr Awesome video sorry for the redundant question but this looks pretty cool maybe we can try opus for real time weather and try this out in ngx of course any ideas on what to disable in opus other than weather to try this out, thanks. This a an awesome program just played with some in game weather cranked up some wind, really nice top notch sounds also, well done A2A. Rich Sennett
January 9, 201313 yr Molleh, it is strange. In your video the audio effects of turbulence are loud and clear. However, on my system, when I loaded up both the Duke (and also Cessna 310), with a severe turbulence situation, I ended up having to turn my engines sounds literally OFF to begin to hear the effects of the turbulence on the fuselage. Whereas the Accufeel ground rattles and bumps are very loud and distinct, the fuselage rattles caused by the turbulence appear to be extremely muted by comparison. I could barely just make them out above the aircrafts built in wind sound. If it matters, I have a 5 speaker system, but I can't see how that would matter. I'm very glad they are putting a new volume slider in there, because it looks like I'm going to really have to crank this in order to be able to hear the fuselage rattling due to turbulence on my particular system. I'm surprised by this, because on their accusim plane, the bumps and rattles of turbulence can be heard very loudly. On an unrelated note, I just got the onset of what might possibly be a hardware failure and it just sent my fsx performance into the dustbin. I would like to continue playing with Accufeel, but it looks like I'm virtually dead in the water right now until I figure out what is going on. Always another issue to get sorted! :bad:
January 9, 201313 yr Moderator Unfortunately, I think something must not be working for me. I just tried it with the pmd 737 in the stock FSX severe thunderstorm theme. I disabled ezdock too, just to see Af2 for itself. I tried the turbulence at several settings from completly off to 90% and to be honest I see nothing happening. The plane is getting severely batted around in the "turbulence" but it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference whether accufeel is on or off or what setting I have it at--behaved exactly the same either way. Behaved exactly the same before af2 was installed. And then, hopefully just because I was screwing around with the settings so much, it ended up dropping out with an error message "Accusim.lua:1195:bad argument #2 to '?' (interval is empty.)" I haven't tried it with Active Sky yet. So what am I supposed to be looking for to verify if there is any new and improved accufeel turbulence? Am I looking for a rattle or a bumpy noise too? Has anybody else tried it with the 738ngx and is getting better, or more pronouncable results? I really like Accufeel by the way, and I think everybody should get themselves a copy who doesn't have it, but I do wish I understood how to set up this turbulence stuff because it was THE feature that I was looking forward to most. I'm getting similar results as well in airliners. A few days ago when I bought and tested I wasn't getting anything with the turbulence sliders all the way up in both FSX and Accufeel. Today it dawned on me that while I had severe turbulence on in FSX, after using AS2012 for so long, I had forgot that it was recommened by them to go into the weather tab in the settings menu and disable the box that says "turbulence and thermal effect aircraft" or something to that effect. It was recommended by the HiFi guys to keep it off to help prevent planes like PMDG and LDS from doing the S-turns and it was off for so long that I had completely forgot about it being off. Once I turned it on and tested with the default 172 I did notice that I was getting some turbulence effects and also the sounds from it, but not nearly as much as what appears in the videos, however when I tuned it off the turbulence sound go away but the aircraft still behave about the same. I also tested in the NGX and the PMDG MD-11 and it still had little to no effect and I couldn't even really hear the turbulence sounds, even with the FSX engine and enviroment sounds off. I think when Scott releases the update, maybe if those effects can be multiplied a bit more for large a/c it will be more noticeable. I use EZdok as well but dont use the DRM or random effects in them and that could be one reason I am not getting as much movement in the large a/c the way it looks in the videos. Not that I want to be bounced around in the cockpit, but I would like more of an effect than what I am getting now in the NGX and -11. I've been on some real airline flights that hit turbulence that was so sever it almost felt like hitting an invisible brick wall and moved the plane a lot. So far I have been unable to get this type of effect yet in airliners. The smaller a/c like the 172 seem to work better in displaying this type of effect. I also cant hear any turbulence effect in the larger a/c either like I do in the 172. It will be interesting to see how the update works and I am looking forward to it. POST EDIT: I would also note that in the NGX or -11 I dont get any effect like in the video Scott posted here: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=33303 at the 5:25 mark when he hits clear air turbulence and the plane really moves around a lot. Although that looks like it was in a default a/c so maybe in after market planes like PMDG's, they dont react as much to turbulence as the default ones do.
