January 14, 201313 yr I think he means the s teens hits Jarkko posted of his setup in AS2012. Those settings are indeed very similiar to the ones I posted here a few days ago. I tested my setup last night with enabling "prevent FSX cloud redraw" and it did not seem to affect overcast or wind conditions, and the cloud flashing and reappearing disappeared, so I think I will keep that new option. Ah right yes. I unticked the "Prevent Cloud Redraw" a few flights ago and I haven't noticed any cloud flashing/reappearing yet - although if I do I'll be very swiftly re-enabling that option. Luke Harvest
January 14, 201313 yr Sorry, what do you mean? They posted screenshots of their configuration in the app. I'm a total Noob on that app. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
January 14, 201313 yr They posted screenshots of their configuration in the app. I'm a total Noob on that app. Yeah, sorry, I realise what you meant now. If you don't feel confident copying those settings over I'll give you a step by step and show you what the resultant settings should look like within AS2012 (apologies if some of the steps are obvious to you, I'm just trying to make it as clear as possible) 1 - Go to the Control Panel in Windows 7/Vista and click on Folder Options (you may have to switch the View By from Category to Large/Small Icon to see this). 2 - Once in Folder Options make sure you have both Show hidden files, folders and drives selected and Hide Protected Operating System Files unticked. 3 - Open Start -> Computer, access the drive which holds the installation of Windows 7 4 - Now navigate Users -> {Your Name} -> AppData -> Roaming -> HiFi -> AS2012 -> Options 5 - In there you should see a file FSXOptions.cfg - you can open this file, delete the contents and copy and paste in my settings (or anyone else's). The file contains nothing in particular to your license of AS2012 - or your system, it merely is a config file that sets up the options. Save the file and then start up AS2012 and it will load up the options. This is what it should look like if you're using my settings. Luke Harvest

January 14, 201313 yr Those settings combined with upping the cloud density in the FSX.cfg to 12 give pretty much the most convincing overcast conditions I've seen in FSX. Luke Harvest

Regards, Dan D (cdnavi8r) Dan, this needs to be changed in your actual FSX.CFG file...you will find it in /appdata/roaming/microsoft/fsx open it and find the entry cloud_coverage_density and change the value rfom 8 to 12.
