I'm using FSPax only but just discovered X-PAX from the other recent post. Preferences if you've tried both? If you have a moment comment as to why you voted as you did.

Thanks in advance

Noel

I heard from those who own FS Passengers that the software is no longer being supported by the developer. XPAX does not receive much support either but the developers are still there to handle questions.

Best regards,

You could try FSCaptain too, I prefer it over FSpassengers, I haven't tried X pax though.

Being very generous FSPassengers is in 'development hold'. Being somewhat more to the point no development has occurred for a long time.

Not sure about XPAX.

Please consider the free demo of FSCaptain as mentioned above, it lacks the economic model of FSPassengers but is more comprehensive from the flying side.

I have to say that the support is first class, I would say better than any other developer and i include PMDG et-al in that.

Thanks, will f/u w/ checking out FSCaptain. I'm not so concerned about FSPax's support status as it works fine. I'm looking out into my next build so if there's something better for me in this regard I'd love to hear about it.

I rate FSPAX. Much more comprehensive than XPAX (not that XPAX pretends to be what it's not). And it works with most addons - there's an issue if you use the NGX with FS Crew, but there's a workaround for that, too. I like the career progression, and the economic mode so that your fleet can expand. Just adds a little more to the whole experience. And being chatted up by the stewardess is hilarious. Lack of support isn't an issue for me.

Not tried FSCaptain but last I looked the forum seemed to indicate NGX issues and I fly that too much to want to mess about with it. It looks like a good product with good support.

I just completed a flight from Malta to Innsbruck with FScaptain + NGX and it worked flawlessly, so far I've encountered 0 problems with FSCaptain and different addon aircraft that I use.

I could even use FSCaptain to load the aircraft while with FSPax I had to disable use of payload model with it.

And being chatted up by the stewardess is hilarious. Lack of support isn't an issue for me.

Ah to use a phrase from my native Yorkshire "one man's muck is another man's gold" I loathe this, i was a FSP user from FS9 Dan added this comical aspect, I ended up deleting the sounds!

Curiously the same issue that FSP has, the panel installation is somewhat more complex. FSCaptain is fine with the NGX in fact an interface has been written just for it.

Happy to stand corrected on FSCaptain. I am glad it works well with the NGX, save for the fact that now I might have to consider buying it. Damn.

Greetings from another Yorkshireman. You never have to ask one where he's from; he's already told you :)

In my experience FSPassengersX has a lot of bugs and a terrible customer support, I would not recommend it even to my enemies.

I don't think too many people have experience with X-Pax, and with no demo, not much to go on. I have tried both FSPassengers and FSCaptain, FSPassengers is the better product for my more entertainment based needs. The horrible interface, clunkyness, goofy install and overall dull-ness of FSCaptain are the negatives I saw. Plus I really enjoy the added sounds and better layed out procedures of FSPassengers.

X-Pax does look very entertaining with videos and more audio, and might mix well WITH FSPassengers, would be curious to hear if they will run together.

Don't forget that FSCaptain went through quite an evolution in the past 2 years... They are about to release 1.5 now. I purchased it about a month ago and in my experience the interface and the installation is flawless and easy. I couldn't find any bugs so far (50+ flights), and it gives me the realism I need. I don't want to waste my time with loading passengers one-by-one, and I don't care about oil and ticket prices, neither the reputation of the company. Let the execs worry about that. I just want to fly as a captain, having the only responsibilities that the captain has. Get there safely in time, and comlply with the airline's policies. No micromanagement. That's what I like about FSCaptain...

I seriously doubt both will work together at the same time. They have the same mission with passengers and ratings for how well you fly the aircraft. Having seen this discussion, I decided to get my XPAX up and running as I had not used it for some time (busy with ProATC-X, AVSIM, golf, MegaSceneryEarth V2, and reinstalling FSX). I had some issues as it did not connect to FSX right away (had to start up FSX then restart XPAX; once started, boarding began immediately but continued even after all passengers were on-board; told it that I was in taxi mode so passengers would be shown seated but passengers continued to roam the isles; got the video changed by refreshing the video page). I ran it with MegaSceneryEarth V2 Illinois, AI Smooth, FSDT KORD, and ProATC-X enabled. Once I got the passengers seated in the video, I had no further issues. I see this as a connection issue. It worked fine before so more testing needs to be done before I get it down perfectly again. I can run XPAX in full screen mode but I will not be able to enjoy the videos of passengers boarding, enroute, and deboarding on my second monitor. If you like FS Passengers, I would stay with it.

Best regards,

Jim

Hmm...so there is a constant MS type window open showing a video the whole time with X-Pax? For single screen flight simmers, this might be a definite downside. You have to AltTab back to see the video if you run full screen or can you some how undock it and put it in a corner within FSX?

I guess for those of us that don't have X-Pax, we(I) just don't understand how it interfaces in with FSX?
