January 16, 201313 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk...ngland-21040410 It apparently hit a crane atop a high building in misty conditions 8:00am UST. Two killed -- could have been much worse.
January 16, 201313 yr Yes, the photo's look quite dramatic, could've been much worse though I suppose. Rónán O Cadhain.
January 16, 201313 yr That's very close to where I work. I'm very familiar with that road, and it's often packed. Tragic though it is that anyone died, it is a miracle more people weren't killed or injured.
January 16, 201313 yr I was curious if it was a traffic helicopter or a transport, reports haven't said so far. If it was a Traffic operation chances are it would most likely have been said already, but lack of news means it could have been a VIP or something. January 16, 201313 yr Rumour has it it was a Castle Air A109 from Redhill to Elstree with pilot but no passengers on board. Regardless, RIP to the victims and all the best to the families and friends involved.....I just sense when there is a lack of news means something more to it and someone is preparing a press release. May not be the case. Edit: Castle Air's Website seams to be having some loading issues so they are most likely having heavy traffic at the moment. They are a company that specialize in aerial filming from what I am reading. Matthew Kane I'm Dyslexic, what's an error to you is not to me
January 16, 201313 yr Getting any sort of 'official' information after what would probably be classed as a 'major incident' in Central London like this would never happen quickly, I doubt it's anything more than that.
January 16, 201313 yr The UK AAIB will formally investigate this so, apart from factual information, I wouldn't expect anything else until it reports. Gerry Howard
January 16, 201313 yr Sad sad tragedy... I'm sure our thoughts go out to the pilots family :( Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
