New American Airline Logo and Paint Scheme

Recommended Posts

My previous reaction was I think that was too harsh. Still, I think a good paint not only to puts a brand name in your face, but it also seeks to compliment the sleekness and elegance of the airframe itself imho. If you look at an old AA 727, it was as if form, function, and brand logos all came together in synchronization. This one doesn't do that for me--unfortunately one of the images that comes to my mind is that of a circus train. Maybe I'm just sorry to see the last livery that has remained the same for my entire life go away, too.

The tail looks like the image below on the PMDG NGX. I uploaded that livery just after midnight GMT. Over 300 downloads so far. So I guess some folks like it.

I think this is pretty much everyone's response to the new livery...

When I started this thread, at first I thought it would all be negative, but I'm pleasantly surprise how many repaints and how many downloads there has been on this livery. I guess it's not all that bad like people thought!

I think it's a new face for American, considering their previous scheme wasn't exactly good looking by any means... But everyones entitled to their own opinion! Good for you AA!

We parked next to the 737 with the new paint in Miami the other morning. It does look better in person. We were flying one of the newest unpainted ones and when I was doing the preflight I was thinking that there will be no more new unpainted planes coming to us. A clean freshly painted plane looks nice but nothing beats that bare aluminum look when it is brand new. It's almost like looking in a mirror.

I'll prob get killed by saying this.. But I like it!

I'm with you too. The more I kept looking at it, I began to like it more. The old AA look was starting to look just that, old.

I would have hated that. I'm not a fan of the new livery, maybe it still needs to grow on me. But this.... Thanks, but no thanks. There were a few very nice artist impressions on some other forums though.
